Buttman is basically a dictator that has been there forever, through all sorts of poop, so I'll believe it when I see it. - Pat1993
If there is backlash against the NHL (likely), and there has been a lot of bad PR the last few months (stick tape, cancelling event nights, etc...), someone will have to eventually pay for all these decisions.
Yeah, he made the owners rich, but a lot of those old school guys that put him there are gone, not sure if his support is as big as it use to be, and if the bad PR starts impacting ticket sales....
I do think he is/was near the end, regardless.

meh, the cover up came from Hockey Canada as far as we know
at some point I wish he would go cause he has been there forever, but then, maybe he will stick around for a few more years, mainly cause he has been there fore years
I dont buy the dictator thing at all. If the owners and major players wanted him gone, he would have been gone a long time ago.
He is the owners guy and speak for them |

We understand that there is significant public interest in relation to a sexual assault investigation dating back to 2018. We anticipate that the LPS will hold a press conference on Monday, February 5, 2024, to share further details. londonpolice.ca/en/news/antici… #ldnont
The NHL will simultaneously announce an expansion franchise on the moon - AGalchenyuk27

to be clear I was using the "dictator" analogy simply for all the time he's been there..
while I don't think he's this evil entity planning all sorts of terrible things, I do think he's been there for too long, profits or not.

How long does the Youth Hockey Association coach keep his job for? Literally had no experience before being given this position. Why is Burrows still employed with this team? This can't continue for another season in 24/25 can it? Lack of talent or not, I'm not seeing the progression or 'process' bearing any fruit right now. |

but he's also a spokesperson for the league towards fans, and does a terrible job at that. I think the sport could potentially grow better with someone else in charge.

I'm aware I don't have a say in this Pete, my point is just that current owners could also benefit from a new voice. |

I just think it is time for the NHL to move into a new era... they are still too old school mentality, filled with archaic ideas and attitudes.
He did a good job growing the game, getting in new teams, making owners rich.
But he is stagnating the NHL's further growth at this point.

He should step aside, but his replacement, Bill Daly, is just Gary Junior |
