No Hart talk please.

So back to Guathier? Torts archaic ways? Or #freemorganfrost? Wait an hour I’m sure the Flyers will find another way to make news.

In the story of the The Zen Master, The Boy, & The Horse, the answer from the Zen Master is always the same, "We'll see". It's a kick in the head to the Flyers that they have potentially lost Hart for a extended period of time and maybe forever, but when one door closes another one opens. Ersson now has the opportunity to prove he can be a viable number 1 in this league. Many of us think he can be, so now "We'll see".
- jd250

do you think the flyers had an idea Hart was involved and this day was probably coming?

Gonna be interesting to see how Ersson handles being the man. Much more pressure I would think. Merslikens wants out of Columbus? I wonder if the Flyers would make a play for him although I don't know his price tag.

I want no part of Elvis. Just stay the course. I expect the team to lose tonight and Saturday and then briere should shift to selling right away after the all star break.

I know, but between Cutter, the losing of games recently and now Hart, I want to focus on something not negative.
- WhiskeyMan

DB did say he was staying the course yesterday in his presser….to me that’s welcomed news.

Great news. Start shipping out the ufa s for picks or prospects and try to maximize the draft spot.

I'm one of those suckers. I don't wanna give up on this season even though the writing is most likely on the wall. It became apparent in the games against Colorado and Tampa that the Flyers just don't have the top end skill to compete with these teams. It sucks, but reality bites I guess.

Hopefully Olle Lycksell can get a couple of games here to show what he can do. Him, Cates, Hathaway could actually be a solid 4th line you could trust that could play 10-12 minutes.

I thought he looked ok the other night. He was more noticeable then the other times I’ve seen him play.

We had two good goalies and now one is looking at 20 years in jail so we basically have no backup. We will likely no have to sign a vet in the offseason to back up. I like Ersson but he doesn’t have a huge sample size so if that doesn’t work out, it’ll be an issue.

I guess those that were hoping to see them as bottom feeders will be happy with what’s transpired. Certainly hasn’t been great so far in 2024.

- Hextall271

They have a backup with NHL experience. Just a question of how well he plays. They're still not a bottom feeder. Would getting a higher draft pick be such a bad thing for a team that really wasn't going to do anything this year?

They do have a week off coming up. If DB wants a reset for the stretch run…he has some time to get things done.

How is one of your former first round picks in Joe Veleno your 4th line center?

18 points in 45 games making $825,000. Seems like a good value player to me.

The Flyers have three 4th liners making a total of $6.75m who have scored 14 points in 117 combined games.

Yesterday’s thread last night I made a post that MJL and TheFreak pointed out I misread. They are correct and I apologize for misreading. TheFreaks post did not say what I thought it did. I reread it and they are both correct.

I saw your other post from yesterday. I appreciate your kind words.

Just a background..I have followed Hart since before he was a Flyers prospect, as I watch the Victoria Royals in the WHL, and had seen him many times live. I am completely gutted by these events, and I am still trying to reason that it is all just a bad coincidence, but I also admit I am losing faith in his innocence with the overload of articles and opinions in the last 36 hours.

Why not at the all star break...all the gm's are there...seems like a great time to start the process.

Its interesting to me that a lot people are complaining about the 11/7 the Flyers have been employing lately, but the same people don't want Deslauriers in the lineup. Torts said Lycksell is going to play, so with only 11 forwards and Brink sent down, who else but Deslauriers would sit? It's a win/win in my book.

The Flyers have Drysdale. Tippet's injury is far less worse then originally feared and he should be back soon. Hart is a loss but he was really just an average goalie. It's certainly not that bad.
- MJL

I am not really worried about Tippett going on IR. It was back dated, and he can play before the weekend, but the smart thing to do is let him get the extended rest and come back properly healed, instead of rushing him back. He can sit through the all star break, and come back strong. No need to rush him back for either of the next 2 games.

Tippet will be back and then what? Brink should've been playing and really, Deslauriers should be the 13th forward who only plays in cases where there is a one game injury or something like that. Anything longer and another player should play. Ideally, the Flyers would waive and demote Deslauriers.

Of course they did.
- landros 2

They had to. They extend Ersson for two years when they didn't need to. They trade up and draft two goalies in this past draft. They fought the ruling to get Fedotov over here, and are working hard to get Kolosov over here ASAP. You can connect these dots and clearly see the Flyers have known for a while Hart was one of the players under investigation.

The last game was perhaps his best game as a Flyer. He was up on his skates and making sh!t happen on almost every shift. The question becomes cane he be consistent with this and not fade into the background again.
