I think if we did that there might be death threats on this board.

Are there going to be any college kids making their pro debut this season?

- WhiskeyMan

Yeah. One poster came on yesterday calling everyone trump lovers, saying f hockey and f the flyers. Holy hell.

The Rizzo kid is intriguing. It would be nice to sign him after the season.

Yeah, definitely eye-opening. It's safe to say Ottawa at least knew some of the details.

Dorion's tenure was a bit of a mess but he deserves a lot of credit for how decisive he was with Formenton.

Hopefully Olle Lycksell can get a couple of games here to show what he can do. Him, Cates, Hathaway could actually be a solid 4th line you could trust that could play 10-12 minutes.
- atibus

I can't see Lycksell on a fourth line. If he's going to play in the NHL, it has to be as a winger in a top 9 role with skilled linemates, possibly some PP2 time.

I think the ideal 4th line for the Flyers is Cates-Poehling-Hathaway. Also fine with Cates moving up but as a winger and not a center.

What happened to him was a horrible crime, that woman should have been locked up but instead got a lot of money for her actions.

He his black balled from MLB for doing nothing wrong.

- WhiskeyMan

Same will happen with these guys even in the unlikely event they are found not guilty. No one will take them on other than the khl.

So a cousin of mine spent time in the Canadian army. He often traveled with groups of men and women who were serving. On one night in question, he spent a night with a group of men and women who were heavily drinking at a bar. From my understanding my cousin and one of the girls in this group snuck away to their group's hotel and I'm sure you can guess the rest but it was mutual between the two. That part seems to be fact between these two. Later in the night my cousin and this girl rejoined the group. Of course more drinking goes on, more questionable decisions. Apparently the girl slept with another guy within the same group.

Let it be known...I wasn't there...

According to my cousin, this girl and my cousin continued to train together and sometimes still hung out in groups but she wanted a relationship with my cousin. My cousin rejected her. After my cousin leaves the army and returns to Windsor Ontario. My brother happen to be living with my cousin and my brother answered the door to two Quebec police officers who wanted to speak to him. My brother told them he wasn't there. Long story short, this girl comes out and accuses my cousin and this other kid of rape, at the same. For 5 years my cousin had to pay a lawyer and travel from Windsor Ontario to Montreal Quebec to fight the charges he swears he's innocent of. I myself even traveled to Montreal from Detroit to sit in on hearing all 3 sides. Believe me when I say, none of the stories matched up between the 3. The police even filmed and showed her original statement that they showed at the hearing, that didn't really match the live statement she was making for the judge. I'll say this, the only thing that kept my cousin out of jail in those 5 years was money. The other kid wasn't so lucky. He spent sometime in jail until the case was over.

I know my cousin pretty well. I think he can be naive. I think he can be aggressive when he's drunk. He's a pretty big guy but I think he can tell the difference between force and consensual. However, living to all 3 parties, all 3 individuals are of questionable character. The two boys brought family with them for sympathy. This girl oddly enough showed up with zero people in her corner.

I'm no longer on good terms with my cousin not related to his legal problems. The truth is. Seeing what I saw and hearing what I heard, even though he was found innocent, I still don't know if he did any wrong doing.

I don't know...I get that too, but you have a guy in a prominent position on the team being investigated for a highly public rape case...Not sure what the right thing to do was.
- TheFreak

is there a right or wrong answer? I suppose they could have suspended him with pay though not sure.

I let it play out so to me the flyers did the "right" thing unless some more details come out and what not.

Of course it does….but in todays world we all know this situation is not one that will go away even if exonerated. The girls is apparently fully cooperating now with the police so her statements on the events will be public record. So many times in life sports celeb’s get away with stuff…other times they don’t. If the girls telling the truth, and honestly I think she probably is, then the repercussions are going to be harsh. Yes she did say certain things, but come on.

It’s a good question. Perhaps the nhl could have stepped in and suspended all of the players with pay knowing they were under investigation but that depends on the CBA.

Interesting. I wasn’t aware that she was now fully cooperating with police. I suspect that what happened is she initially didn’t want to press charges but now does. She’ll have to testify etc which will likely be hard I’d say. There’s so much media attention on this, her name will likely come out as well. Terrible situation.

your opinion on Caters TOI, seems he came in and was held in high regard and now Torts sees him as a 4th line guy?

Certainly true, he has that option. I guess the Flyers better lay it on thick for him to want to come here, having Brink here is certainly a good thing to have. Not sure how close they are, but he can certainly give insight into the org.

He should have been in the lineup all along. Really a fail by torts. He’s been noticeable and very solid this stretch.
