like $50 a year for UA hockey. they rake in a lot of coin. - hello it's me 2050
Here the fees are about $520 a year and that just covers registration. It goes up as they get older. Not gear or as they get older travel etc. |

. That’s why the fees I pay for my son to play hockey are so high. What a world - Hextall271
If you don't mind me asking - how much is that in Canada and for what age?

No. The way it works is $520.00 fee to play on the team for the year. That covers ice time (and apparently payouts to victims! Haha). Doesn’t cover gear. Right now, my kid isn’t on a travel team. As they get older, the cost goes up for the registration and you then have to pay for food and lodging when they travel for games. |

if 520 is your cost to play that is cheap compared to here. |

it cost anywhere from 5-10k to play tier one hockey in the USA. Just to play on the team. Add in hotels, food, gas, private lessons, and the like your talking 20k+ easy. now do that for 8 years.......

So when he gets older, if he wants to play for a rep team, it starts to get into that realm. Travel all over, gear etc. some guys have told me it’s 10 to 15 k a year. One guy on my hockey team has a daughter scouted by a private school team in Vancouver area. It’s 20k a year and it covers most aspects like food and lodging but not everything. |

I think it’s a little disingenuous that people want the truth and stand for what’s right. Hart was guilty on here before Danny Briere’s presser. There are people on this board who won’t even stand up for each other. Gross and ignorant things both racist, prejudice and even marital status are spoken on this board way too often. Most on here go for blood. It’s only a problem until these words are spoken against someone you disagree with about something minor yesterday.

Yea, the victim got compensation i have read about that several places. Strangely it took the London police 5 years to react. - THE EVIL WITHIN
Alright so you’re sexually assaulted by a group of people. Their company comes by and says here is 3.5 million dollars, will that help? From reports, the young woman was a teenager. Up against future pro athletes and their governing body, Hockey Canada. She says ok.
Then the poop hits the fan, well within the statute of limitations for this kind of thing. Now, the young woman has way more support on her side to see justice brought forth. She has the police circle back (completely and totally legitimate, you idiots) and say hey look new evidence has come to light that may see your assaulters get what’s coming to them. You’ve got the 3.5 million. If it was all just a big lie and misunderstanding, any normal person would probably say “yeah no I’ve got my money thanks”, without the circus, your name in the papers all that. Unless this young woman is completely insane and a liar (the baseline for women in most of your pickled brains) how could you blame her for cooperating with this investigation again?
You say “5 years to react” like this woman was sitting in a golden mansion the last 5 years, waiting for the right time to strike at these young promising boys, called up her buds in the London Ontario police department for a favor. This is how the law works, a lot of the time.
If you were wronged, and were paid hush money, and a few years later the investigation into your situation was re-opened, now with way more evidence of poopty people all the way to the top, would you not want to see the people that hurt you brought before a judge?

I think he's referring more to the perceived cover up and trying to sweep it under a rug then a criticism of the victim.

Fair enough, and if that’s what you’re getting at, then yeah, FTP, but many people the last few days , both here and elsewhere in flyerland , have been criticizing the woman.
I’m with you. Carter Hart is mid, and really always has been. I don’t really care what happens to him next, both on a personal level and a hockey level. Sucks to lose the depth, but you can’t tell me there aren’t guys on that squad that have looked side eyed at Hart, and caused a bit of tension. I feel like once they can be past this, the franchise is in some sort of better position. Time will tell though. As with anything in sports. |

I hate to sound "woke", but unless it's being filmed professionally and the participants are getting paid, I don't think anything good will come out of a guy and half a dozen of his buds running the choo choo train. |

Well, he was out on the ice nearly twice a long. The Flyers seem to have this notion that all you need is a 5 minute sample size to judge a prospect...if they do not have a hat trick in that time then ship them to the press box |
