Will be interesting to see if Roy can fix the Isles terrible defensive "system" that continually turns over the puck and leaves their goalie in the lerch, especially given defensive play was their hallmark the last few years.

Or if the Devils can avoid a lot more injuries, backfill for McLeod, and get themselves decent goaltending (not named Campbell).

maybe his body is giving up on him. It can happen pretty fast and if it did, he might be done for good. The guy played very hard and hitting anything that moved for years.

Yeah, he has also lost his solid linemates... so he has questionable talent around him, all defensive systems likely 100% focused on him now and no creative guys like Backstrom to find him in the open.

I think he should have gotten more games, and anyone who does similar, should as well. Setting that hit as a 5 game suspension rather than 8-10 sets a bad precedent. The NHL needs to set new precedents to make their point that this behaviour is not acceptable and will be severely punished.

This is not about Gallagher, but the hit.

Also, I have never, doubt I will ever praise Mailoux. Still think they were wrong in drafting him, that they should get rid of him... but we've had that convo around here too many times in the past to even bother anymore.

But trying to create some kind of false equivalency between people's reactions to these two different events is a waste of time.
