David Jiricek is reportedly unhappy with his recent demotion to the AHL.
Apparently his defensive game needs help with CBJ believing he needs to play alot of minutes in the A to correct some things....Jiri see it differently.

Except Adams missed the Ticket before it got sucked up by the floor sweeper. |

Okposo lol. - IonSabres
Have my issues with who they put on the ice, like everyone else.
They play their best 5 (or very close) on the PP. They have a man advantage. To some extent, I think blaming the coach is a cop out.

Yup, that's where I saw it too.
Before they get him, I would want to to see the exisiting coaching staff released and some competent coaches brought in...especially Defensive/System guys followed closely by a Offensive / PP guy. |

I haven't watched more than 5 -10 minutes of a game since mid/late November.
The times I have watched and a PP is on, I am amazed at 2 things...1) perimeter play dominates, they have no one (not Noone btw) who can play the bumper role, 2) the boys like to conserve energy by not moving., lots of flat footed players, especially down low.

I think that just stems from the 1st part. This is perimeter group who has no real interest in working low. It's been the case years.
They need some urgency. At the same time, they throw 35m out there and the guys who are supposed to be leading this team. This isn't all about coaching. |

It's not, but it's the first step that should be taken to trying to fix the issues.
Ask yourself this: What the hell even is their power play strategy, aside from a pre-game perimeter warm-up shooting drill? |

It's the same PP that they've run for what feels like 7 years and most of the NHL essentially runs.

I know I'm sort of a Homer with watching the Bolts, and many don't want to hear it...that said, do yourself a favor and watch Tampa's PP. Very creative, and it all flows from Kucherov in right faceoff circle...distribution to: R point, Center top slot to Heddy, Stammer in his Office, Point in the low slot, behind the net.
Yes, they have 4 HoF-ers, partly due to the success of the PP though.
This team could benefit from the coaching staff learning & implementing different systems...and move their GD legs. |

We just saw them. They do essentially the same thing with twice the intensity and more threats than just a one-timer.
Skinner, Cozens, and Tuch aren't great shooters and they don't generate very much. Let's face it, Tage isn't Stamkos on the PP either.
When Kucherov has the puck, he wants to score. When Cozens has the puck, he wants to give it back to Dahlin. |

Disagree,
Kucherov distributes 95% of the time...loves to go:
Heddy coming down the top of the slot, Stammer in his Office for the 1-timer, and to the low slot as Point jumps in.
That's the key, the guys are moving getting into the designated area...not standing waiting for the pass through 4 guys.
Re-watch it...thing of beauty...trust me on it. |
