You made the statement, it is on you to back it up. But looking into your post, I see Tampa did overpay for him in 2020. But they traded him away the next season for a 7th round.

So you are correct, teams do make stupid mistakes

- WhiskeyMan

IIRC, the only reason Tampa got rid of him was because of the cap. They wanted to keep him but their cap wouldn't allow it and he wanted/deserved more money. He's a very good player.

One would hope that he's just trolling and trying to get a rise. For his sake. After all he has played, coached and watched hockey for too long to not see what he sees.

- MJL

Has to be. I don't know anyone in their right mind who would take TK over Pastrnak.

I have no words
- TobyFlenderson

Do you watch Pastrnak play on a regular basis? Do you hear what local hockey people in Boston who know more about hockey in their pinky nail than you could ever hope to know, say about Pastrnak? No of course not. You see him play one game where he has a good game, and you just assume this is who he is. If you watched him game in and game out, you would maybe have a different perspective. I am not saying Pastrnak is not a great player, just that if I had a choice, TK is where I would start. If you have no words, well, perhaps you should keep it that way.

I see Poehling as a younger version of Laughton, that is NOT strictly a 4th liner.
- jd250

I think he’s been better than Laughton for the last 6 weeks over all. Perhaps this is why the trade chatter has picked up around Scotty.

That's your opinion. I have a different opinion, and I know a lot of hockey people that think the same way I do.

Bonk is just starting to take that next step….watched his game the other night for a couple of periods…he was the best player on the ice. Has all the tools, all the pedigree. Could end up being one hell of a player.
- landros 2

I agree, however saw his usage on the PP (high slot), and most of his goals are on the PP, but not sure he will get used like that in the NHL. But still looked really good

So maybe it’s not just Cutter who (as many of us believe) doesn’t like being told “no, you’re not ready”.

- mikeyo27

Now, this would be a great player for the Flyers to trade for! Who would the Flyers have to give up to get him?

What can I say Bill, it's not luck. I just know what I see and I trust my gut. Maybe I should be scouting for the Flyers, that would be a dream job. Please give me a good word or two
- jd250

You would be horrendous at it. You have proven repeatedly that you have absolutley no eye for talent and follow Torts every word as gospel.

Maybe we can trade our best defenseman RR for him straight up.

In all seriousness, he should be the type of player Briere is sniffing around (another one being Broberg) to see if he's available. I highly doubt he would be but I'm biased, he was the guy I wanted them to draft.

But your thinking is flawed. You are the ONLY person complaining about that game...it was 5 games ago. They kicked a$s, won, and have looked like shlt since.

The PS goal counted, no matter what you think. He didn't go backwards or stop, he stumbled, and shot the puck.

What does it matter if Tippett doesn't make that shot ever again? He did in this game, it was a goal, a highlight reel goal at that, and nit picking at it is just that...nitpicking.

Continuing to insist about the Dallas game looks foolish, as everyone here seems to have disputed you on this, even Bill on multiple occassions.

You appear to be wrong more often than right.

- TheFreak

I said at the time of the Dallas game the Flyers didn't look right and I thought they would limp into the all-star break. So what exactly was a wrong about?

It can be hard to project…but from what I see…sky’s the limit for this kid. He already showed high end defensive ability…now he’s showing what a touch of confidence can do for his offensive game. We’ll see how things progress.

Pastrnak is an elite scorer that racks up points on the PP. TK is an all around player that can hurt you 5v5, on the PP and on the PK, plus plays with a lot more heart and grit than Pastrnak. I would love Pastrnak on my team, clearly the Flyers need a player like him, but you don't win in the playoffs with a team of Pastrnaks. I still take TK if I had the choice between the two.

Do you not realize Pasta is over a point per game in the layoffs?

You were dead wrong about the Dallas game 😂. They lost one of their best forwards, they lost a goalie, the games have now piled up on Errrson, it was one of the toughest opponent stretches the team has had. And they actually didn’t play poorly in a number of games, they just couldn’t score and some great players scored on us. You weren’t right about damn near anything.

Why do you highly doubt it? Don't you think the Flyers have a lot of defensive prospects in their system? If it turned out that Jiracek did not want to play for Columbus, and honestly, why would he?, is it far fetched the Flyers put a package of players together to try to get him? Columbus might like a package that included Andrae or Bonk, with maybe another NHL defenseman like Zamula or RR if the Flyers cover some salary.

I wasn't sure if he flat out requested a trade or was just angry he got sent down to the AHL, which seems to be the case with Jiricek. I remember reading a rumor awhile back (could've been Friedman) that the Oilers might've been interested in Sean Walker. If they could get Broberg and a pick back for him, I think I'd like that more than a probable late first rounder from a contender.

Why do you want Broberg? He's 22 and can't seem to crack an Edmonton lineup that is far from lights out defensively.

Jiricek is pissed and has let it be known what he thinks of his treatment…bold. Broberg’s agent suggested that the player was not happy with his situation and thought perhaps an opportunity would arise elsewhere.
I’m not sure Walker alone gets you Broberg.

Barclay Goodrow? He's a mediocre player and was a huge mistake by Drury to sign him to that deal. One of many mistakes that Drury has made.

nothing to back up as most peeps know. blake coleman is another.

Did tampa win the cup that year? They traded his rights as he wasn't going to be re-signed as he was looking for a payday. Which he got.

This is what you do. You try and introduce anecdotal evidence that you can't prove and nobody can disprove. We all know and I hate that fallacy but here it is appropriate. That your insinuation that anyone in Boston that has any clue is saying negative things about Pasternak as a player, is pure fantasy. It's just more proof that you have zero ability to accurately assess anything to do with the game of hockey. Even when it is painfully obvious. Pasternak is universally considered a superstar elite player and one of the top players in the NHL. By everyone, with the exception of you. It is not debatable.

Pasta is one of those guys that you don’t notice all night until he gets within 20 feet of the net. Then there are fewer any better or skilled. I love TKs game but I don’t think he’s as dynamic as Pasta.
