Hughes will wait until he gets a deal he likes. That's how he's handled every case so far.

And I know these things never happen, but Friedman mentionned it was possible the Habs could trade Monahan and still sign him in the summer. I wouldn't be against that at all.

guys that sign back with their former team are usually guys that have spent many years with a team and they go back there

like you said, that almost never happen

my point is, if he has a good offer already, no point being greedy and wait until march 8 to pull the trigger. Hughes should forget about the top prospect thing and focus on getting a late first round pick. Hughes can trade it after if he wants to.

HuGo do this for a living, they know what they are doing. They will move when the return is acceptable.

Yeah, I said something similar a few weeks back, but it does seem doubtful given it rarely happens... cannot even remember the last time.

are people really ready to give Monahan 5x5M? or 5x6M?
because that is the kind of offers he will look for imo

yeah but Monahan wouldn't go back to CGY, and if he likes it in MTL he might entertain the idea (not saying this is the case but it isn't impossible).

I don't think he gets a player, now, if he makes the deal. No team that looks like suitable trade candidates are currently desperate.

Things get crazy at the deadline, so if he wants a specific player in return, he might gamble with being patient.

by the time the Habs are competitive again...it might take another 2-3 years (time for the kids to develop), not sure Money is part of the future, he is part of the transition

it just started, really lol

omg, I remember there was something like that at the mall here, when you put in a dollar it would light up and you could hear the chicken clucking very loudly until it gave you your prize.

So you paid a dollar to watch a chicken have an orgasm?

Pretty sure DP will let you do that for free.
