She never says that, she's happy watching 8 hours straight of netflix in the basement if we let her.
Then I say can't you do something better with your time? Then she proceeds to annoy the poop of her two younger brothers and I think maybe not letting her watch TV wasn't a great plan. - Fredo
I know Videogames don't have the best reputation, but sometimes I tell my kids if they want to keep being in front of the screen, at least use your brain and play a game.
Sure games like Fortnite teach you very little but other games can actually help out. RPG's make you read (and learn english if you don't put the game in french), Zelda like games make you think through puzzles, co-op games makes you develop teamwork, etc.
Fighting against them all the time because they want to be in front of a screen isn't all that productive in the end, and a little hypocritical when you end up watching your own phone 2 min later.

That job was horrid.
As a 12 year old, getting up ar 5:30 each morning / 7 days a week to unpack the newspapers, put in the fillers, sometimes put them in plastic (if raining / snowing) and then trudge an area that was at least 5-6 miles every morning.... regardless of how sick you were. And then to actually have to go back and collect the weekly subscription fees.
To make maybe $30-ish a week plus tips.
What a scam they had going.... I somehow lasted about 4 months. |

Pokemon taught me that children should go out and enslave those that are weaker than them.

Amen brother. Did it for a summer because my dad said he did it when he was 7-14. Nobody (frank)ing tipped. Apparently when he was a kid, they would go to the office and tip the courier after the fact |

Yeah, I think it was like $1.75 a week for subscription, so they would give me $2 total and make a big deal about it. And those that just got it Sat / Sun was under a dollar and I was lucky if they gave me a whole dollar for it.
Some wanted change back.
