The people of Tempe had no idea what they were voting for. That’s on the NHL and trash ownership. Not an indication of the viability of the market place - CanuckDon
It might be an indication that people there don’t give a flying (frank) about hockey and never have. They can’t fill a 3000 seat arena ffs, you can’t be that ignorant |

Ignore Mini. Van paid less for lindholm than WPG paid for Monahan
Van:
1st and a 4th for Lindholm
Hunter to lose $5.5MM in cap next season
WPG:
1st and a 3rd for Monahan. They were unable to dump a contract.

Clue about? To be fair, I suppose if you only chimed in about a subject you at least have a basic understanding of you wouldn’t be able to post on a hockey blog. |

That's nice, how many owners has this franchise had since they were moved from Winnipeg? They got kicked out of their last arena because the previous owners were too broke to pay their lease and taxes and they had an arena proposal that would have revitalized the area and STILL couldn't get it past the NIMBYists. Face up to it, Phoenix-Tempe-Scottsdale do not WANT an NHL team. Maybe the snowbirds that live there during hockey season do, but the actual residents don't. That's not a viable hockey market, Phoenix has always been a college and NFL football market and that's never going to change, even the Suns have issues filling their arena and for the last couple of years they've been contenders. |

We'll see what Van gave up. Connroy, Cal media and fans see Kuzmenko as the main piece and if he starts scoring again, the value can't be denied just because he wasn't a fit under RT.
There's also a scenario that the 4th turns onto a 3rd and Hunter develops into a top 4 D.
In the end, this trade could be a pretty big haul. It will take time to determine. I think it's a bigger price than the Monahan return and potentially much bigger.

Come on Booner, you are better than this. If the Canucks put Kuzy on waivers he would not have been claimed. That’s the definition of negative value/ cap dump. The flames can spin this however they want but see through the BS. They obviously like Hunter |

He's a cap dump to the Canucks because he doesn't fit RT's system. |

He isn’t worth $5.5MM. I don’t believe he would be claimed. Do you not think other teams scouts have been watching the games? And it has nothing to do with RT’s system. Tocchet doesn’t appreciate low effort and 5 turnovers at the offensive blue line each game. Which coaches system is conducive to this? |

Canucks paid a 2nd to get rid of a 2.6M contract but are paying a 3rd round prospect for a 5.5M cap dump.
No doubt he would have been claimed by a few teams. |

I'm comparing what needs to be determined yet. You are just barking the usual arrogant bias. Look at it this way... if the package we gave up was as worthless as you say... surely someone in the NHL could have done better but not the case at all. |

39 goals a year last season, for 5.5M dollars
Anything near that helps a lot of teams. We happen to benefit by accommodating a similar salary in a piece that should help our lineup immensely. We also benefit by having cap space to begin next season. |

I didn’t say it was a worthless package. No need to invent sh!t to help your argument.
I said it was a later 1st in a week draft (of course this has value)
Our number 6 prospect. Kids skillset is intriguing. I personally don’t think he plays a significant role in the pros but the jury is still out.
And a cap dump |

Right but you are aware that the fact they play in 5000 seat barn is a joke and have had the worst attendance of any franchise in history right? Like I know you live Arizona, but surely you must be able to digest that hockey hasn’t exactly flourished |

You have no clue about this years draft. You have no clue about the prospects we gave up (you moronically called Jurmo a B prospect yesterday) and you have no clue about the value of either of the roster players traded.
Again, don’t chime in if you don’t know what you are talking about. When someone like myself that is far more intelligent than you offers information/ advice listen. Personal growth is a wonderful thing |
