Just thought I would share this Tocchet comment, in case you haven't seen it yet.
“I'm playing (Mikheyev) with these two guys, and I've got to see some forechecking from him,” Tocchet said as the Canucks prepared to emerge from the National Hockey League All-Star break with Tuesday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes. “I've got to see him winning some battles and, I think, coming up with loose pucks. I want him to drive the play, especially as a top forechecker for us. He's got guys that have the puck a lot that can hold on to pucks and make plays. So, you know, this is a test for Mik. I mean, I've got to see some good stuff out of him here on this line.” - Reubenkincade
So...do you think Toc wants to see Mikheyev play a harder game? Kinda morph him into an Alex Burrows type of player, without the finger biting. |

Hopefully Tocchet is trying to increase his trade value, so they can get a legitimate power forward type, that can play in the top 6 and take some of the pressure off Miller from having to be the only power guy in the top half of the forward group. |

Meh....I think most of the good teams only have one power forward type in their top six guys at forward, the Canucks are no different. They have three guys in the top 20 in scoring, two in the top 8, so they are doing something right. A puck retrieval guy would be nice though.
I suspect Lindholm and Pettersson are going to work really well together, if past history tells us anything, so they just need that one guy who plays a heavier game and can win some of those 50/50 puck battles in the corners. |

How many actual "power forwards" are there anymore? Not that many, really. Definitely not two a team on average in the top 6.
Hopefully Mikky gets his speed up towards the end of the season and he can be that fast disruptive force for Petey and Lindholm. Don't need to be especially heavy if he's just annoying and pressuring D into turnovers constantly. |

There's probably only a half dozen of them in the league, true power forwards, Tkachuk boys being the best of them. Dying role within the league.
I think Claude Giroux, a favorite of Reuby, would look good on Miller and Boeser's line, guy is old but he's still producing and he can dish the puck. |

Giroux would be a great add. But from what I've read he chose Ottawa to be close to home, so I think he'd be pretty reluctant to waive to be traded |

Agree, he's from the area, but he's 36 now and he's not going to make the playoffs or win a Cup with Ottawa. Nothings guaranteed but he'd have a shot at a Cup with the first place Canucks. |

Which is basically why I said a power forward type. Mikheyev hasn't shown that he is any good at board battles, or for that matter, throwing an occasional hit, although he is great at fly-bys. |

I think Reuby targets Giroux, as he is one of Lefty's boys, great for trolling him. |

He skates fast, that's it. He has stone hands, as well.
Giroux is not the answer. |

It was good of you to not point out Lefty's double use of would, that he has since corrected. |

Agreed.
I would be fine if they got another forward, preferably 2 that were a little bit fiercer on the forecheck. |

I don't think Quinn Hughes will reach 100 points but what an accomplishment that would be, only six defensemen in NHL history have reached that number. According to the world wide web.

Ya, could see the pitch going over better if he was a UFA after this season. He still has a year left though, so that would be a move for him. Would be a good add though, that Miller line would be deadly. |

lol all good but leave out the part where Luongo chokes in the finals and how the team turned into a bunch of pussies after the Rome hit.
