yeah, at this point I hope they do take the Rocket's success into consideration, the farm team making the playoffs is kind of important imho.

The only ''plan'' I can see now is Newhook at C as soon as he comes back. But they knew the playoffs were out of reach and they still have to focus on the rebuild.

its not Hughes fault if Newhook. Dvorak and Dach all got hurt this season. May I remind you that most fans did not even want Monahan to come back here to begin with? I was one of the few before he signed back last summer. Otherwise it was once again the play the kids story.

They will look at their centre line in the off season. But mtl is deeper at C that they have been in years (or so they were with Monahan). Injuries just killed it.

Very smart management of assets to get another first rounder for middle of the road centre with an extensive injury history.
The Habs are doing the right thing and playing the long game. Very impressive.

Nathan Legaré just had green light to come back, and Sean Farrell is getting close to a return.

I wonder if the Habs would sign Brendan Gignac to an NHL contract and bring him up...that would make for a cool story.

je comprends les inquiétudes au niveau du reste de la saison et la ligne du centre, ça risque d'être pénible en effet, mais il fallait faire ce qu'il fallait faire. Je m'attends à un échange simliaire cet été avec ce choix de fin de première ronde à ce qu'on a vu les deux années avant. Mais faudra voir aussi la masse salariale pis toute.
