the only way it could ever be any good and actually look like competitive pro hockey is if there was a certain playoff advantage on the line for the winners/losers, like having home ice advantage in the first round or some poop.

and there would need to be physical contact and bodychecks, which I'm sure is something the league doesn't want at all during such an event when you have the very best players confronting each other, risking injuries lol.

I guess you could argue though that the music artists the NHL has invited for the all-stars are somewhat better or at least still currently relevant in the mainstream compared to the next superbowl half-time, with Usher lolollll

personally I find the 3-on-3 overtime during the regular season is usually entertaining to watch.

I definitely like it better than the shootouts, that's for sure.

well that depends on your perspective, I'm pretty sure the majority of fans today would prefer determining a winner rather than not having any at all...


personally I'd find it very unsatisfying if they brought back tie games, especially since you'd be bound to see a lot of games where both teams are just playing it safe for the whole evening and being content with a 1-1 result. this ain't soccer. (frank) that.

3V3, and to a larger extent, the shootout stops being a team game.
