Carchidi is an idiot. Staal’s value is what it is. He’ll bring back a late draft pick from a team looking to add depth for a playoff run.
- BiggE

Or if you believe the rumors he'll basically get to dictate whether he wants to go, and where he wants to go, so that probably means the Flyers get nothing more than good ol' future considerations.

It’s Cates I’d get to the wing. I’m a fan of Laughton on wing but Cates isn’t doing anything special at center this season.

Cates is at 3RW according to Bill's reported lines.

Hey Bill,

Thoughts on Zegras? If you were Briere would you be interested? If yes, what would your offer be to Anaheim?

I would agree, I'd rather both Cates and Laughton be on the wing. Laughton sucks offensively at Center and Cates is an outstanding F1. Team desperately needs a Center both near term and long term. Don't think that was Quitter either. Do we have any young centers anywhere? Seems to me we have more wingers coming, but who the heck is going to play center for this team and thats assuming Frost continues on like he has the past month or so...

Bill, you need to report on the Hart situation from a hockey opps perspective. Everyone knows its an incredibly touchy situation, but at the same time there is a responsibility to the fans.

Good teams don't lose 5 in a row. Playoffs appear to be out of reach. Not sure Ersson can handle being THE guy. Next!
- PhillyWhiteout
Are the Bruins a good team in your opinion? If so, they have lost 3 in a row twice this season and lost 5 out of 6 at one point this season also. The sample size is too large for you to state the Flyers are not a good team or the playoffs are out of reach.

I think it gets real now. Too many teams that have more talent behind them with games in hand and Ersson concerns me. I sure hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid the writing is on the wall.
- Phillywhiteout

How many of the goals Ersson gave up in the most recent games were bad goals?

Good to hear the Flyers, and other teams, will get cap relief for the players that were charged. This gives the Flyers much more flexibility to take on some contracts at the deadline to make some deals work if needed.

Flyers are not a good team as their record shows 25wins 25 losses. They are a mediocre team that has overachieved to this date .

It does help them...how is it working are they getting Cap relief based on the remainder of their contract this year or on the whole value??

A team stacked on the right side, how did they manage this? Atkinson, Konency, Tippett, Foerster and Hathaway are all healthy.

Not a rumor gmdb said in an interview early in the season or preseason that the choice was his if he wanted to move or not

Has this been confirmed? Capfriendly still has Hart counting against the cap even though he’s listed as a non roster player.

Though with his deal expiring and the Flyers certainly not going to qualify him, it really doesn’t matter that much.

Article on Fox sports yesterday talked about Walker being traded. Three teams mentioned in order of probability Oil, Lightning, and Stars. The article did touch on draft picks but for the most part it was about prospects. On each team they listed 4 of offense and 4 defensemen all under the age of 24. All 3 teams had some good to above average players. A few were in the NHL out of the 24. So if the Flyers made a trade and received a “Owen Tippet” type player with maybe a second or third round pick would that work for anybody? Just spitballing.

I don’t think the Flyers are buyers regardless of where they are in the standings come the trade deadline.
- roenick97

We sure hope so.

All depends on the player. A good young center prospect is just as valuable to me as a pick in the 25-32 range in this year’s draft.

I wonder what it’d take to get Maverick Bourque off of Dallas’ hands….

I would take Bourque for Walker. Maybe they can punch up and try to pry away Wyatt Johnston.

What’s punch up mean. To get Wyatt cost would be more than Laughton. What would you offer?

Edit. Or walker as well

Make a bigger offer. Maybe Walker and a 2nd, I would even entertain Walker and Florida's 1st.

If Briere can get either one of them from Dallas for Walker and/or Laughton and some kind of combo of picks he should be exec of the year.

Flyers are so weird. Bend over backward to make sure the veteran locker room cheerleader on a one-year deal gets the VIP treatment he's entitled to... but "core" players like Hayes and Provy are basically tossed out like snotty tissues without a second thought.
