If Briere can get either one of them from Dallas for Walker and/or Laughton and some kind of combo of picks he should be exec of the year. - TobyFlenderson
They’re definitely not getting Johnston. He’s thriving on the 1st line with Hintz and Robertson.

Flyers are so weird. Bend over backward to make sure the veteran locker room cheerleader on a one-year deal gets the VIP treatment he's entitled to... but "core" players like Hayes and Provy are basically tossed out like snotty tissues without a second thought. - Tomahawk
I also think he preferred to stay in the Northeast. So that severely limits the teams as well. Also, do Boston or the Rangers really have a use for Staal? Maybe the Devils would just want a body. |

Dallas would be foolish to give him up. Already a 20-goal scorer at the NHL level and outpacing last years' point numbers. I think Bourque might be a possibility, he's still in the AHL at 22 years old and is clearly too talented to be there. I feel like they'd dangle him for a bigger piece than Walker/Laughton though. |

Bourque is a more realistic target. It will take a lot to get him though. I could see Calgary targeting him in a Hanifin trade.

Perhaps a combo of both….maybe take a dump back as well. Danny’s gotta get creative tho

I think teams should be asking about Jiricek. He’s in the minors and has been very vocal about belonging in the NHL now.

I’m sure the Flyers are…but what can they offer CBJ? They are kinda in the same predicament….need future assets |

I would take Bourque for Walker. Maybe they can punch up and try to pry away Wyatt Johnston. - MBFlyerfan
I don't see Dallas trading Johnston for anything the Flyers are going to be offering.

Maybe Anaheim could offer Cutter. But he may not want to be a Blue Jacket.

Good to hear the Flyers, and other teams, will get cap relief for the players that were charged. This gives the Flyers much more flexibility to take on some contracts at the deadline to make some deals work if needed. - jd250
flyers have a history of doing that.....lets see if the business savvy danny boy cn go a diff route than other flyers gm's
maybe they add a player with the xtra cap space. |

Agreed, maybe Guentzel as well if he becomes available based on the Penguins' situation. |

Has this been confirmed? Capfriendly still has Hart counting against the cap even though he’s listed as a non roster player.
Though with his deal expiring and the Flyers certainly not going to qualify him, it really doesn’t matter that much. - BiggE

Dallas doesn't really have a cap dump candidate. If they're interested in Walker/Laughton you're likely looking at picks or B level prospects in return. |

Unless a surefire top 5 lotto team is willing to give up their 1st the Blue Jackets have little reason to move him now imo. Maybe in the summer.
If the Flyers are looking to make a big trade like that however I’d prefer it be for a center. |

With the disaster the Blue Jackets have been for years, and after the Babcock debacle this summer, the whole management group should be fired. They have had the picks and prospect to at least be a decent team and they always suck. Time to clean house.
The point is, if I were the owner, I wouldn't let Davidson or Jarmo Kekäläinen have the power to trade players like Jiricek. Let the new GM be hired, or replace with an temp GM, but either way, there should be no moves of anything other than older UFAs on CBJ until a new management is in place. I just don't think the current group would get it right. |

Rangers would likely give a 7th to take Staal as an 8th depth dman |
