Oh boy (Ek’s blog) 😆
I am hearing the Blues turned down William Nylander for Parayko a few months ago, and the current market price tag is "2 First round picks, plus a prospect." - mr.sir
I am hearing the Leafs turned down Mcdavid for Nylander because they didnt want to mess with the chemistry of the team
*just as likley

Wait, what?!? Woll was one of the top 10 goalies in the league before his injury, Jones has proven effective when not over-played, and Sammy seems to have found his game. Last night wasn't his fault. - Whipper
I agree. I don't think there's a goalie on the market that would be an upgrade. Markstrom from Calgary...maybe if he's on the market but I bet he would be costly. I'd aim for what Monkey is suggesting. An Ekholm type deal that the oilers made last season. Someone to slot in #2 and push everyone else down.

We just need to get in. Couple of deadline deals to shore things up. Woll back. Guys could go on a heater. Dont know till you play the games. GLG - Snot Dillingham
We’ve given up prospects and draft picks every year and it got us nowhere except empty cupboards. If there is a hockey trade out there that makes sense for more than a quick run maybe, otherwise this just isn’t the year and until changes are made, neither is next year. Seriously, with 4 of the top 9 paid players in the league on the team we should NOT be fighting for a playoff spot!! The recipe is broken and they just keep stirring it thinking, hey if we keep stirring it, then it will taste different. Not gonna happen. |

Poor leadership and no urgency
Time to fire the coach....actually letting him go is long overdue |

Man this team is just close but no cigar, and not sure Tre is going to be able to do a lot to balance things and fix holes at the deadline. At the very least need a goalie and defence and the costs are going to be stupid at that too.
Sad to say it is gonna be a ride and die here with this group and pray can get in and then hope for a run of some sorts. - Roadrunner75
How I feel. Don't waste assets on this group with the amount of holes.
Best plan would be to move Bert at the deadline, but on the other hand we might as well see why everyone pumps his playoff tires.
At least any team signing him next summer won't have to overpay for his services.
Heck we should get a draft pick just for doing their homework |

But hey, the leafs have 7.5 million Rielly who's 7th in scoring for dmen. That's something right? With more hits than some of the superstar Dman you love. That's something right?

I think it's fair to assess the "snot" as Treliving put it, during the actual playoffs. Lots of people here were happy with Reaves, Domi and Bert for playoff hockey specifically. Can't turn our backs on the plan now because they aren't regular season stars.
I agree with your last couple points.
I disagree on not making trades. If this was the thinking in Tampa they wouldn't have won the 1st of the back to back cups.

You have to make the playoffs first.
Should be some fun hockey down the stretch. |

If we had waited until this deadline to get Bert, Domi and Reaves it would be considered great management. I’m okay to go into the playoffs as is with this team. |

Aaron, I always enjoy reading your views and I recognize we need to make moves/ trades.
But I just think the cupboards are too bare at this point to do much upgrading and the prices are thru the roof.
Plus Tre put us behind the eight ball before the season started and they only way to recover from that is next summer.
Empty the trash and reset. |
