I don't think they are going to bring back Zadorov and if they can get Risto for three years at 3.25 mil per then that could solve the RHD situation at a reasonable price.
I know very few like Risto but very few liked Zadorov also. Risto at 3 mil plus short term is a good deal. - VANTEL
Zadorov is a far better defenceman than Risto at this point. Also, anyone that doesn’t like Zad is a (frank)ing idiot and should be ignored |

I think most like him just not liking him at the contract he is looking for. Big difference.

Reports out that the Canucks are kicking Phil Kessel's tire as well.
Pass on both.
I do think they are going after another top 6 though. I think... and they have said, they are satisfied with their D group. Soucy returning is like a D addition down the road. - boonerbuck

Vatrano would be such a nice add, but he's just a bit too costly |

It’s a sh!t show for sure. But having a team in a massive market like Phoenix does make sense. They need a new owner and a goddamn arena close to the population base - CanuckDon
Idk about that. Sunbelt & smaller market teams have always faced challenges.
https://puckpath.com/nhl-teams-by-revenue
A new arena certainly ups the odds but it’s no guarantee & no data to back it up. The Phoenix Roadrunners are the predecessors when it comes to pro hockey. So the area hasn’t been devoid of exposure to hockey. Far too much competition from NFL NBA MLB & college sports imo. Rather see a sports craving market that isn’t inundated with competition from every corner.
San Diego only has MLB.
Houston a natural rivalry with Dallas.
Salt Lake City has a deep pocket bidder.
Portland only the NBA but a conflict.
The GTA could support another team.
Idk but feel free if other ideas or knock mine idc lol |

I must agree cuz what Z brings to the table there isn’t much of it around the league. Comes down to his ask or he’ll price himself outta here. He’s in a good place on a good team he can be part of or chase the money & risk it all. |

Risto is Myers 2.0 - VANTEL
People don’t like him because of a future contract demand that isn’t even public knowledge? I personally believe he is the most important UFA other than Lindholm. Regardless, let’s enjoy having his physical presence for the rest of the season and evaluate in the summer. |

Only similarities are ex-Sabres who at one time could put up points & are big. Rather stick with finding UFA’s like Soucy & Cole than move assets. Now that we are winning the UFA market will see us as a place to sign instead of shun & there could be fair contracts as a result instead of overpay & over term. |

A few top insiders like Freidman and Seravalli have stated that he is probably going to outprice himself from the Canucks.

I think they were prepared for that when they traded for him and are content with him being a rental. They gave up almost nothing for him after all.

As far as low cost rentals go, it's a home run.
