10-0-2 in their last 12......
Who really gives a (frank) if game 51 is a dud?
Is it because it's against Boston? Would it feel better if it was against the Rangers or Lightning? - golfingsince
It's not that it's just one bad game. It's that it's a really bad game against the second best team in the league, it should be a "measuring stick" type of game. Last season the canucks were one of the worst. This season we are one of the best. Is it a mirage? Winning games against the Coyotes is not going to tell you yes or no. Having a competitive game against the Bruins could give you some indication.
No reason not to be prepared for this battle.
But who knows, in the past I've stated my opinion and the exact opposite happens. Maybe they come back in the third. Let's see how they respond. |

Flames pissed the Bruins off. I’m sure there were words spoken.
Calgary winning 2-1, Kuzmenko having a great game. How’s Lindy doing? - K-man25
minus 4 |

Slow starts
Lazy backchecking
Losing puck battles and fly-bys
Forced passes
Just a general lack of aggression
Winning masks many bad habits. As good as this team is, there are still some areas of the game they need to work on. - bloatedmosquito
Those are occurrences in this game. Petey the main culprit on those goals against this game. To call them habits they would have to be re-occurring each game. Is that what you see each game?
Are you saying they were lucky to win their games that were masking their bad habits?

Boston just lost to the Flames. Let's be realistic... it happens. Canucks beat other teams they were competing for top spot as well. Rangers last road trip which was a statement run of games.

I'd say we're a top 10 team, that's about it.
It's great that we're 1st overall, just seems that there are many other really good teams in the league.
Top 10 is a vast improvement over what we have been, and maybe we're even top 5.
I do agree though, I would not be selling the farm on this team. |

I disagree with the bold. A person can be a smoker, quit for some time, and then go right back to it. Hence it's called a bad habit.
Season after season, this team played soft and at times were easy to play against. That "softness" was evident this season but they were winning. Didn't matter as much. But when we got Big Z, many were happy that he had a reputation of truculence because it was something this team lacked. Call it a killer instinct. Cup winners always have it. Our team needs to find theirs.

That’s a pretty good take. I’ll dial it down onto the PP hurt us bad & forced passes. All too often I’ve seen forced passes that we overcame & won. I really believe the need to practice putting more sauce on cross ice passing. |

They beat Carolina 2 nights ago which is another top team.
Remember when Hodgson scored against the Bruins in 2011-12? It was our Stanley Cup.
Hopefully they learn from tonight , move on and play harder. The playoffs are 2 months away. |

Flyers are thumping the Jets tonight 4-0, really good teams lose, just the way it is. 🤷🏽♂️ |

Yeah those nervous nellies pile on with Canucks not a Contender. Don’t want to go into the playoffs with this group. Well cry me a river sh!t can happen in a game.
It’s only disappointing wanting to see a high profile match up game. Not a season and playoff defining one. - Quinn's Quest
I don’t give any team contender status til they’ve done it as in make a deep run. Vegas might set odds but they’ll always make money cuz there is no guarantees.
Now that has nothing to do with if we contend that is in the doing & the regular season counts for squat come the PO’s. |

It’s definitely a measuring stick & getting humbled should be 1 more thing added to what it takes to get to where they want to get. It’s all good. |

I think my gripe is how they are losing, not that it is a loss. Ugly performance tonight in an important game for the fans. Come out and lay an egg. Doesn't make me happy so I'm voicing my displeasure.
Hope the fanboys can deal with that.

For me, I figured a loss was coming when Myers took a questionable hit and nobody gave any response, not even a face wash. |

Petey’s tendencies are an easy read as soon as he stops skating he gets pinned & pressured up high on the boards near the blue line time after time. He has to adjust is all. If he doesn’t beat the check it goes bad so he needs an outlet or an option & not let the pressure win. Quick give & go or down low on a quick one touch. Holding onto the puck too long gets him in trouble. |

They have lost the least amount of games in the league. Only a couple of teams are close. I would it give more consideration if they lost more than 3 or 4 games a month. |

Top 10 easily ✅
✅✅
Totally agree✅
Enough assets are spent on this season. See what this roster can do & let next season & beyond be the real years to contend. Contend these PO’s is still possible but takes many things to go right. Patience |
