I think this is a moniker best suited for you, it takes a special talent to make it to your age being an absolutely useless tit who's contributed nothing to society, and yet is still getting paid by the taxpayers to just hang around. #generationaltalent |

Sadly none of us have led the Canucks to a cup so we can't even begin that discussion - NewYorkNuck
Thanks for a great job in advance. I’m going to go with your blog will lead us into the Canucks winning the Cup. If not, I blame it on you. No pressure lol. |

When is Boeser up for contract end of this year or next year? |

Pretty incredible game last night. Canucks put on a clinic in the second period. As usual, they showed resiliance and poise when down a goal.
It was excellent to get a glimpse of what this team can do giving the current lineup. I like the construction of the team. And keep in mind, theres some serious depth in Abby - Friedman, Karlsson, Bains, Pods, Wolanin, Dries, McWard can all slot in, in depth roles if need be.
I loved seeing Zadorov completely annihilate Chatfield - who fawking blows by the way, and not a single Cane did a GD thing. Never hear anyone talk about this team being "soft" anymore - thats a great sign.
So excited for the Bruins game tomorrow.
thanks yorkie!! |

So there's this really cool "new" invention called GOOGLE - real simple to use. I'm guessing you're still using "Ask Jeeves"??? |

I've always disliked the whole "You aren't great unless you've won championships" argument especially in team sports because so much depends on the team around you. It's one thing in basketball where 1 player can literally take over a game and can win a ring on their own like Magic, Bird, Jordan, LeBron, and Curry could but the Stanley Cup is literally the hardest championship to win in sports and even the best team in the league can lose due to injuries/fatigue during a playoff run. - DariusKnight

You're out if your mind if you don't think players like Ray Bourque and Nik Lidstrom aren't generational players.
Bourque is a 5 time Norris trophy winner Cup winner and in the Hall of Fame and a 19 time all star. He played 1600 games and scored over a 1000 points as a defenseman. When he retired at 40 years old, he has just finished 2nd in Norris trophy voting.
Nick Lidstrom won 7 Norris trophies, 4 Stanley Cups and was a 12 time all star. Is in the Hall of Fame. Also won the Conn Smythe. Won his 7th Norris trophy at age 40 and in his last year in the league at 41, finished in the top 5 of voting. Played over 1500 games and scored over 1100 points.
There isn't a defenseman in the league today who are close to being as good as they were. - MJL

Lidstrom is for sure. Bourque maybe not so much. Great player and all but couldn't get a cup in Boston and had to do the rental thing to get his cup in Colorado. Lidstrom was almost Bobby Orr Special so generational for sure.

York Newbury: Lindholm enough to tip Canucks past Canes - York Newbury
Thanks Newbury, fun game to watch, Carolina is a good team. I was half expecting a extended time off let down from the team, (frank) I hate old habits (way of thinking).
Now I am expecting Boston to be pissed at getting beat by the Flames, and a hell of a competition on Thursday. |

Thursday will be a great match. Funny it will mean more to the fans than the majority of the players... Boston has what, only Marchand from the cup team? Still will be a raucous crowd. |

I am so over the 2011 drama, I do get a chuckle how some guys are still butt hurt and still cling to their ridiculous takes on the series loss.
Boston is a really good team and a great measuring stick for the Canucks, looking forward to 2 of the best playing each other. |

The Bruins don't really have a plethora of high-end talent beyond Pastrnak, and to a lesser extent Marchand, who's getting up in age, but they play an outstanding team game under Jim Montgomery. Should be a good game as the Canucks are definitely more talented, skill wise, but they need to stick to their systems in order to beat a good Bruins team.....still hate the Bruins though!!
It's interesting to look back at their history, being an original six team. They've got eight players who've played 1000 or more games, including Marchand who's at 997 and will get there within a few weeks. Chara was in the league eight years before he became a Bruin and he still played 1000 games for them. |
