There have been rumors that the Ducks could be open to moving Zegras. The Rangers have Kakko they could put in the deal. The Flyers (who already traded for Zegras close friend Drysdale) are also rumored heavily to be trying to bring him in... - hello it's me 2050
Even Ducks fans don’t like Zegras. Torts would hateeeee him |

If they are not going to tank why not? It’s not going to hurt the draft position. |

Since teams came into the league at various different junctures -- Philly being in the group of six that entered the league when it doubled from six to 12 teams in 1967 -- it doesn't really make much sense to rank the way you ask.
That being said, among all NHL teams, only the Montreal Canadiens got to 2,000 wins faster in their franchise history than the Flyers. You know that Philly has won two Cups and probably know they've reached the Stanley Cup Final eight times. May or may not know they reached at least the Cup Semis/Conference Final 15 times (six straight times between 1973 to 1978, 1980, 1985, 1987, 1995, 1997, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2010).
It should also be said that long Cup droughts are far from exclusive to the Flyers. Every team goes through it Every franchise that has ever existed, excluding the ones who are either not yet that or are at least 30 years and have a Cup to their credit (Anaheim in 2006-07), has at some point in its history gone 30 years or more without winning a Cup or only won one in a span of 30 or more seasons.
Toronto is still second in total Stanley Cup championships (13) but not only have they not won a Cup since the final season of the six-team NHL (1966-67), they haven't gotten back to the Cup Final since then (57 years if they don't do it this season. Rangers have one Cup in the last 83 years. The Blues came into the NHL at the same time as the Flyers, and have only one Cup (2019). Ditto the North Stars/Stars/ Vancouver came into the NHL in 1970, and have never won the Cup.
Nature of the beast. And the teams that are on top now have nothing to crow about because history shows, time and time and time again, that their day will come when when they's spent 25-, 30- , even 40-plus years trying to get back on top again.
Nature of the beast. - bmeltzer
So basically anyone who says the Flyers have a culture for losing would be full of poop. Probably the same person that posted “What have you done for me lately” by Janet Jackson, while asking the organization to tank. Not sure I follow the logic but there you have it, folks.
Thank you, Bill. |

The TDL this year will be the telltale if this team truly is committed to rebuilding or is just blowing smoke everyones arse.
We have at least 4 players who should move and another 5 we should try to move.
Stall
Seeler
Walker
Laughton
Coots
Risto
Sanheim
Atkinson
TK - Flyerloon I think Walker, Staal and Laughts get moved. Staal isn't gonna bring anything back and Laughts might get you a second rounder. Walker will be interesting. Those other contracts aren't getting moved with the exception of Atkinson next year. TK is a mystery, but Risto, Coots and Sanheim aren't going anywhere unless the Flyers pull the wool over someone's eyes.

Yea, that's what I'm looking for chances to win the Cup. I don't know why we haven't had any parades for these chances. Raised some banners for the chances. Is there a website i can go to see where all the Cup chances are listed?

That's all you can ask for. They have sucked the last 12 years, but before that they were almost always in the hunt. |

The last 12 years have been brutal and I don't really care about history necessarily either. I just get a bit peeved when I hear people say that this franchise has SUCKED for the last 47 years cause they haven't won a Cup. That's just short sighted and dumb IMO.

You're right, it is typical of me. I don't settle for almost. I think it's pathetic to lower your standards and accept almost. The last almost was 14 years ago. Hey as long as we get an "almost" every 15 years or so, that's good enough right? So we've sat through how many years now of this team not being relevant and you want to settle for "almost"? That's all you can ask for? I think it's sad and pathetic to think that way. Demand more and set standards higher.
