I think you are a bit confused with what whining is and maybe lack some self awareness but don't we all?

Someone calling others out on constant complaining and Eyor view of all things Leafs isn't whining it's.....wait for it.....BEING REAL!

Oh look now I'm a realist too!!!!!

I'm more than ok thanks for your concern but I hope you get a tasty snack and it makes you feel great.

Stay Positive and test negative!

Brah, you kinda barged into a convo we were having about Tree, specifically about Kadri's contract, which is pretty terrible (friedge said something about us looking for a center, somebody on Twitter mentioned Kadri).

We then started talking about Tree's track record so far, which isn't great. This isn't the usual "whining" from the usual suspects, the relentless debbie-downer fest, everything is awful, nothing is good, blah blah blah. Those same guys all wanted Dubas gone, and so far, Tree hasn't exactly been lights out.

It's one thing to critique elements of the team, factual elements, it's another thing to be a complete downer and poop all over everything this team does.

Very Uggie like, which is why we were making fun of "I want the truth" fifty_mission (who's affinity for underscores reminds me of Unholy_Goalie... alt? Maybe).

I worry about players not giving defensive efforts you’d expect from someone making 11.5M
- Arctic_AARDVARK

I think willie has improved overall defensively.

But this team overall can have defensive brain farts.
I guess like most teams.

Ryan Reaves is quickly cementing his spot on this team. Another good game from the big guy. (Yes I know he had one gaffe) Dude is playing much better.

It was nice to see Willy get off the schneid last night.

But he was still a 0 +/-

I honestly believe that if every player didn’t have to play defence and could just focus on putting up pts, there would be a lot of Willy Nylanders out there making 11.5M.

None would ever win a cup though.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

As long as he wins me a ripplin redfin I'm happy.

I think Willy tried to play defence for the first half, but wasn’t very good at it.

Then completely stopped once he signed that contract.

Well, the market of buyers for D-men just got one team bigger.

Tampa will need a Sergachev replacement. That injury looks like his season is done. See you next year Sergie. I hope the pain meds are good.

Sergachev has a $8.5m cap hit. I don't know how the fuzzier parts of the cap numbers work for the Lightning, but that's a fair bit of change for a rental or two.

You gotta think the Bolts are going to bidding on the same d-men the Leafs will be shopping for.

Could get interesting.

Even if the Leafs lose because of it?

You think it’s more important for guys who are already overpaid to pad their stats rather than focus on building a strong team game, suitable for playoff success?

You and I watch hockey for two very different reasons.

Team success is all that matters.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

This makes zero sense, I didn't say 'at all costs, team wins be dammed".

My comment was in jest, pointing out how you chose to bag on the guy who scored 2 (including the game winner) because of the name on the back of his jersey.

It's fine you love who you love and hate who you hate.

I like all the leafs.

I watch 100% for team success, I'm not sure I believe that you do the same based on your constant posts speaking negatively about specific players (ok one player) regardless of the game outcome but whatever.

He huffed some gas until REM sounded like the greatest band ever by a country mile and he's not sure it's close because objectively speaking they are so sick it's insane.

Apologies if I barged into your convo, didn't really realize I had done so TBH and I probably called out some things from times other than last night / today and if so I apologize to you and Fake.

I got home late, backread all the BS on here and decided I wanted to speak up on a lot of it and call out the debbie downer bs if feels like we have to endure endlessly.

Agreed on Tre's track record being pretty m'eh at best and Kadri's deal being pretty bad also.

Someone else said it here but I too am a bit scared of what Tre does at the TDL, he may try do something big and it set the Leafs back further than anyone here wants.

God I hope not and the saving grace is he is still new enough he can point to the last GM and say "I'm still cleaning up the last guys mess" if the team doesn't go deep in the playoffs vs feeling he has to do something out of desperation this year.

I'm glad we resigned Willy, but I do believe we could've got him for less this summer.

Anyhoo. Great players cost money. Film at 11.

- gravyface

Extra money won't mean much in a few years. Core 4 keeping the good ship afloat this year. Marner will resign here too.

Its the bottom end of the lineup that needs some work.

Ok this twitter post made me laugh (the narrative of the poster with the chirp at Buffalo).

It does validate what many here say about many other players coming into Toronto are extra pumped and treat games here differently than other cities.

Gotta' say watching the Stars they interviewed all sound like they want to come and be a Leaf.

Tyler Seguin for a bag of pucks - do it Tre!
