Damn there’s an A&W right across the street from a beer store that’s only a 10min walk from where I live. Looks like I have an extra stop after grabbing some beer for the game. Thanks for the heads up!! - Dozzer
Just remember you have to order it through the deals on the app.
I think Dubas was decent at paying the core 4..but also trying to fill in the depth scoring enough to help move the needle. He seemed to always be tweaking and trying to uncover undervalued bottom 6 players (didnt always work out)
but I dont know if Tree has the same....whatever it is...to accomplish it at least as good as Dubas (min required)..but he has to be better imo
Thats why its frustrating thinking they just go the rest of the way as is...cuz I dont see this team being much of a threat.
and it gets tougher next season..with the cap.
feels like 2 wasted seasons...as is - senstroll
For me, Dubas should have gone hard and all in, on one season……..instead of giving up picks and prospects here and there hoping it was enough.
Clearly this team, with 4 of the top 9 paid players in the league, isn’t a threat. Wasting picks and prospects for a run this year would again be a waste of futures, this isn’t the year.
If Dallas comes out hitting, Leafs get behind early. They make a push with 10 minutes left in the game but as usual, it’s too little too late. Benoit is the only one to show up tough and nobody to back him, unless he is paired with McCabe. Marner gets scared and dipsy doodles and gives the puck away numerous times. Sammy could go either way. Matthew’s, well what’s to say, he’s awesome……..don’t understand the hype about McDavid……..seriously…..the guy has half the goals the Matthew’s has!! McDavid gets on the ice and does his Eddy Shack impression and that’s suppose to be good enough to anoint him the best player?? Not in my books! If Matthew’s, with his size, could add a little, just a little, killer instinct, he would be a Leafs legend. - Bullot
and you'll be crying into your beer all night long!

Tree has a lot to fix, the depth is crap.

If this team as is isnt "much of a threat", adding one top 4 dman wont change too much imo.

or an A&W Rootbeer - dmnted
You almost have to get the rootbeer (in the super awesome frosted mug) because any time I've got anything else I find it has a rootbeer taste to it. lol

I think last season he went pretty much all in, with Ror, acciari. Mccabe, lafferty, schenn (sandin for gust)
I dont care if they trade more picks..as long as its not a rental

I feel like last year was an all in year. Dubas brought in 6 new guys.
In 2021 he brought in 4 forwards, 1 D and a goalie.
Both if those are pretty much all in moves.
The problem is, if you need the trade deadline to make all in moves to acquire 4-6 players over a couple of years, then your team is probably not a true contender.
Imo

probably not, it just 1 player.
Id also look at moving Domi, he is fine, but not what they need. doesnt score much and terrible defensively. use whatever you get for him to find a better fit

Well not really because, I don’t drink beer, and I’m more than good with the Leafs missing the playoffs so some much needed changes are made, starting with Shanahan and Keefe.

Agree on the hockey trade part, no rentals. Dubas did bring in a number of players last year but I just don’t feel like they were any of the big hitters, so to speak. On another perspective……look at all the names you mention, all those players brought in as upgrades and we still sucked! So how do you fix that long term!
Wouldn't have minded Jones, but it's a solid team, so roll with the hot guy*
*Never thought I'd be saying that about Sammy a month ago. - Whipper
Right? Thats because Jones was the hot guy at that time. I know its down the road a bit, but im unsure who the right guy to Waive goodbye to is when Woll comes back. I think either get claimed at this point.

That's a tough one. I'd waive Sammy, get more cap space.
