We can’t score goals… so trade our most offensively imaginative and gifted offensive player…. Hmm makes sense -

Maybe it's perception vs reality but the media hyperbole tells that Verbeek is not at all impressed with Zegras. If that's actually the case then wouldn't dealing a guy he doesn't want to address team needs make sense?

So, really the trade deadline is all about 7 time all star, 3 time cup winner and Gretzky 3rd cousin Chris Tanev. What a farce. To hear the talking heads on the tv talk this guy up you'd think he'd just cured cancer.

Zegras also plays on PP 1 and has much more opportunities than Laf does to padden those stats. Not saying Laf is better or going to be better than Zegras but let’s not make it sounds like they are light years apart. The Rangers could 100% put together a package that would be enough to get him but honestly does Zegras put the Rangers over the top? I honestly don’t think he’s worth it for what the Ducks would want.

Probably would be something like Kakko, Othman, Jones, & a 1st rounder

The link I posted was even strength over the last three years. Lafreniere is a better finisher, but Zegras is a more dynamic offensive talent. No idea what will put the Rangers "over the top." To me they need more depth players rather than a single top of the lineup player like Zegras.

Either you're lying or you don't know basic math. Lafreniere is on pace for 48 pts. 30pts./51games=~.588pts./game. .588x82=~48.23.
Zegras is one year older but has two 60+ point seasons and has been a substantially better ES point producer over his career compared to Lafreniere.

Im sorry for the 2 point round up relax. And nobody is saying Laf is a as good as zegras yet. As valuable is arguable bc both are young players with a high ceiling. But on NY PP1 he would probably be a 58-60 point player this year

The rangers need a 3c and top line winger. They need 5v5 play drivers with speed. Zegras would be a nice add but might not be the right ingredient
