It isn't, but okay. Rage against the dying of the light if you want, but the 4 1st rounders are going to be good players. Your lack of patience doesn't change that. As with Savoie, every other pick after him is also not ready to help their team...so he's amongst a massive amount of company. - QuinnFan
You come off more and more as Gerbe by the day. You have no clue what is going to happen in the future.

Shouldn't you look at more years and +/- positions, instead of just back? Pretty common for top 10 picks to make it 1 year after their draft, CHL rule definitely impacts it.
Just look at Sabres. Benson, Mitts, and Cozens all were...and the #1's of course. - Lunaion
Okay sorry top 10 instead of top 5.
Outside of that. These guys tend to take 2-3+ years to even break in to the NHL.

(frank) all of them. A 1st round draft pick in 24' is more valuable than a prosect in development. Trade them all. - washedup20
To play devil's advocate, you say that these players have minimal value because they're already drafted and our GM says he wants help now. So you're advocating trading them for a dime on a dollar instead of letting them develop into 2nd and 3rd line players? |

They are not good NHL players right now, none are average, none are ready for the NHL. The NHL team needed help the past 3 seasons, none of the draft picks solve any problems for the Sabres. |

I’ve seen enough of okposo myself uncle ion, completely agree.
Sabres though beat to their own drum and they love okposo . They don’t see any flaws, they see 1st line full in and pp2 specialist.
I’m going tonight with about 6,000 other people 🥅 - Boss34

I think Okposo should've retired after the D'Angelo fight tbh, so I could care less if he taps in 9 more or not.
If they sign him to anything, much less a multi-year deal, I expect a lot of our players will start asking for trades. - QuinnFan
Sabres teammates love okposo, nobody is asking for a trade if they resign him
I was kinda kidding about a multi year deal, but this franchise isn’t serious about winning.

If a top 15 F pick isn't an NHL regular by the end of year 3, it's disappointing.

Adams is a retard, he has to now. I advocated to trade them 2 years ago.

Do you see him as a 1st liner opening night?
Glad you're back. This fixation on 20 goals is amusing.

Personally, I disagree. They may like him, but even a blind man can see he doesn't belong in this league. But signing him would show the franchise is more serious about maintaining friendships than winning, can agree there.
Also, if he does return in some 17th forward position, the C should be stripped and never returned. This isn't his team and I doubt it ever was. |

I would rather focus on cleaning up the crap players here and replacing some of them with said Prospects, while making trades for key veterans to bring the qualities the team is lacking.
-Girgs, Okie, Robinson, Cliffy, EJ, Joker should all be replaced next year.
-Mitts, Samuelson, Joker, Rosen, Ostlund, 24-1st are all assets that should be packaged to obtain upgrades in the Top 4 and middle 6. |

We can agree there, on Adams. But that wasn't the question. You're saying their value is at an all time low, but still want to move them. How can you move low value players and get a big impact on the NHL team?
The point I'm trying to make is, it's either one or the other. Either they have value and you can advocate trading them for help now, or they have very little value in which case it would be asinine to trade them. As you say, they all project to be NHLers, probably middle 6ers mostly. While I understand we're at odds over their respective values, I just don't see how there's some in between option here. |

Adams had a solid core of highly drafted players heading into their primes when he took over, he had little to 0 leverage due to him allowing Krueger to destroy the team forcing Adams to move players out. Adams has as much blame as Kruegar for that season.
Regarding the players you want removed, it doesn't take until year 5 to do that though. Adams is using the development period of players who will not solve the NHL teams problems as a reason to sit on his hands. This season is forcing him to publicly say he is looking for help now, why if these prospects are so good they are worth waiting for? How do you look for help....but not be shopping anyone...how dumb does that sound? Taking calls is not looking for help, its waiting for help.
Everything Adams has done has reduced his leverage, its actually impressive how he has done it so uniquely for each prospect too. The league will eat him alive for it. |

If Rosen is the odd man out, and he's he one they want to move. I think it's more than fair to question how much value they can get for him, relative to the value of the pick.

the formula to build a cup team is down the middle
reason 2,763 why they need to extend casey
if cozens or tage is not your solution move one of them but casey is clearly the best of the 3 as a center goes
tage is the best player that may be playing out of position at center |

The current NHL roster is playing poorly....the GM is searching for help now....4 1st round picks are not ready to help now.
Nathan Gerbe won the AHL MVP, anything done outside the NHL is irrelevant. Savoie isn't even an average NHL player, he cannot make a bottom 5 roster in the league as a d+2 top 10 pick. He has high potential, but is as injury prone (or even more) as Quinn, all you can do is hope he hits his potential....what player has reached and maintained play at their potential on the Sabres in the last 13 years?
Now all of a sudden the plan is all in on prospects for an organization that has failed every player they drafted in the last 13 years?
Delusional to think the solution for the Sabres is waiting in the amateur leagues. - washedup20
14 months ago we were wondering if Mitts was even an NHL caliber forward and that was 5 years after he was drafted.
This isn’t the NFL where you get immediate success from your draft picks.
There have been recent publications as well showing that it is harder than ever to crack the league now and the talent in the NHL has pulled way ahead of the AHL, KHL, and SHL.
What these prospects are doing in their respective leagues shows a good probability that they will be very good NHL players.
Like any other data set, there are outliers and chances they don’t pan out. That’s no different than anything else in life. No different than a UFA signing not panning out, or a trade blowing up in one’s face.
Until then, we operate on the belief of these probabilities and that is why when Scott Wheeler finishes his prospect rankings why the Sabres will be top 5 in the league despite all of the most recent graduations

This is quickly turning into Everyone Yell at Washy Day and I don't like it. I don't think anyone can begrudge a pessimistic outlook at this point. Let's keep the ad hominem attacks to a minimum please.
Otherwise Stripes will come out of the darkness with the ban hammer. |
