We're stuck with Cliffy hockey for two more years. Is it really worth bringing back Jokiharju when we know Dahlin, Power and Samuelsson are already on this team as well? That's a lot of mediocrity
I think everyone has been questioning who to keep or if you just re-sign Mitts..
I myself have found to be flip flopping on who to trade who to keep.
last 10 games both have 9pts. Cozens has found his form again. And Mitts has been solid all year. Inconsistent game to game but solid. - DirtyDan
Keep Bucket - 12
Dahlin
Power
Ry Johnson
Thompson
Tuch
Cozens
Mitts
Peterka
Quinn
Benson
UPL
Levi
Throw out Bucket
All the rest of them including Adams, Granato and the rest of the coaching staff.
Trade/let walk the "throw out" group in conjunction with draft picks and prospects to fill in all the slots you need to with different types of role players. We can't keep rolling out the same type of player in every position. Get a few guys that will hit, a few guys that will stand in front of the net, a few guys that will knock guys down in front of our net, a few guys that can kill penalties and win draws.

if you had to keep one
would it be joker or clifton? - homiedclown
Clifton hasn't been bad the last little while. Worth the contract? Probably not. But I like his fire. He brings a little something we havent had in the backend in a while.
Joker cant seem to put it all together. Hope he figure it out, always liked him.
Is it possible to move Clifton without retaining salary or taking back a scrub?
And what does Henri's next deal look like - Hank Balling
let's say we could move clifton to the yotes for a 7th and sign joker on a 2 year bridge at 3,333,333 per, the same as clifton would make for the next 2 years
Buffalo got a good bit of attention on 32 Thoughts today.
Some Notes š:
š· Friedman wonders about the future of prospects not named Benson (he thinks Kulich will end up playing)
š· He talked to someone that attended
the Dallas game who said you could feel it in the crowd that right now 'It's not there'
š· If the Sabres arenāt willing to pay Mittelstadt like they have with their other core pieces, itās going to be a problem; heās not going to be happy
š· The Sabres have become one of the most scouted/followed teams around the league recently
Hey, does anyone have the 411 on Mitts and Dahlinās bromance? Are they still besties? I can see Dahlin sayigg n get me the (frank) outta here if they dis Mitts.

Dahlinās contract is more unmovable than Skinners.
Art dealers are a niche Iām falling into, they constantly need work, I wouldāve never thought.
The client I just signed sold one painting for $25mm last month. Iāve gone to art shows and I donāt understand it all, but damn itās a cash flowing machine.

Just got awarded a massive CM project in Tribeca.

Trading Mittelstadt for a defenseman and acquiring a goalie are reasonable ideas that should have been done last offseason. Mittelstadt needed to go as soon as they locked down Cozens. It's just the reality that you're not paying your 3C $7m
This GM wasted a whole friggin year to do something that was obvious last summer. - Hank Balling
TOI suggests Mitts is closer to 1C then 3C.
Having $20-21M tied up in your top 3 centres isnāt the end of the world, and multiple teams will be in the same boat (if they arenāt already).
Just ask Jeff Skinner where he wants to go and bon voyage.

Aren't they in an even better position to move Mitts now? Certainly doesn't excuse the inaction or poor moves elsewhere. If they are talking about moving prospects now, it would have been a hell of a lot easier to trade Sam/Jack/etc for players instead of picks, or trade those picks.
Does anyone really expect KA to handle this well? Is he just going to find more guys Donnie coached?

Point taken but the slots - and the cap - is filled at 1C and 2C. You have a great asset to move here and ostensibly the other center positions are filled. We have this great prospect pipeline, supposedly, so Kulich should be able to take a 3C spot on the cheap.
If you move Skinner and don't replace him with another elite winger, we're edging back to playing Reinhart at center with Pouliot and Griffith

I think he'll do OK, if he does it. It's very possible Adams just wimps out and gives him a 1 year deal because he can't find a deal he absolutely loves. Then we're talking about a deadline deal next year

I'd probably keep Clifton but I don't care much either way. Just bring in a real top-4 and put the surviving one on the 3rd pair with R. Johnson

If you can't make a decent deal for Mitts this TDL/offseason, you shouldn't be a GM. I mean the bigger picture. New talk about G (despite UPL + Levi looking like a fair plan), wanting a D (but having Joker), talking about moving prospects (but likely ones who have dropped in value), and 4 1sts all competing for roster spots next year.
Joker is in a similar boat to Mitts. Can say you don't want to pay him as a top 4, but that's how you've played him for the bulk of 5 seasons now. We believe he's 1 year from UFA. Can't kick that can any further.
UPL is 2 from UFA. Probably kick that can another season. Is this Gibson talk real again? I don't get that.

How much interest is there for Clifton or Joker? It's a big question.
It's KA, so the odds of 6D coming back is very high, until he proves capable of basic GM functions.

I personally don't care about Joker at all and would gladly let him walk. The most milquetoast of all milquetoast defensemen. If you can get something for him at the deadline, do it. RyJo can do it just as well, and cheaper
