Of course not but they started off in a deficit by not replacing Quinn and keeping Jost, blackhole-ofsson and the Larry twins.
There was never a chance that the team would score that many goals again - Hank Balling
Sabres expected eternal growth from guys like peterka and Quinn.
I expected growth from power, cozens ,Quinn (after the new year)
These guys just did next to nothing |

The team wasn't good enough last year when everyone had career years. I don't see how they'd be in a playoff spot with the same roster with Herb Brooks coaching but we'll never know.
Or maybe we will when Kevyn gives us the same roster next year too - Hank Balling
The team was one point out last year and the youngest team in the league, so there was plenty of reason for optimism. However, instead of minor downturns by a few guys and development from others to cover, a bunch of guys went from career best to career worst production. We could've traded for Karlsson, DeSmith and signed Duchene...we're still on the outside looking in right now with this system.
The further and further into the year we get the more I see Granato holding us back. They still haven't fixed the PP. Our defensive structure has gotten somewhat better but we're still top5 in high danger chances allowed. Goaltending got better, Petey got better and that's about it. |

Switch Olo and Robinson and that's about the best we can do. Really hurts not having Quinn. |

Well said^^
Clifton should've helped as well and he's been a big net loss overall. Will say he has played better as of late, just too little too late. |

We're never going to know what percentage of this team's pooptiness is whose fault. Everyone should have been fired in November imo, but of course that is not Terry-style efficiency.
I expect both of these people to be back next year. I hope Adams sacks up this summer and actually makes some signings/trades. He probably won't. |

he was out in early july for an extended period of time
adam's reaction was to bring back jost
the owner, the gm and the coach has no clue how to run an nhl franchise

Fani Willis’ father can see into the future:
“I knew COVID was around before. They may have announced it in ’20 … I knew about it and I knew what was happening in ’19.”
Damn, these people will stop at nothing to get Trump.
This guy testified he knew covid was coming in 2019. |

You can't just wait for Success, Sometimes you have to go out and grab it. Seems all Adams is grabbing is shriveled up Pegula Walnuts. |

Maybe singing a guy who has never played top 4 minutes and was late in the season and post season often a healthy scratch to play top 4 minutes wasn’t the best idea.
Who’d a think it? |

I agree they need a reset at coach but the Sabres' problems extend far beyond him; the makeup of this team is wrong imo. This mix of players does not work and the "leadership" group of Gus and Kyle was a mistake.
They need an outsider to look critically at these players and prospects and actually make hard decisions. |

I loved the physicality he brought in Boston. I haven't seen him lay a good hit on someone in a long time. |

That's disheartening, yeah I don't have faith Adams can acquire good talent and I don't think Donny can coach at this level. 2025-26, that'll be our year!!! |

Cause he had players that would have his back in Boston, We only hit with purses in Buffalo |

One thing that usually gets lost in the TDL is that a lot of teams have garbage to sell. So unless there's a unique trait attached to that garbage (cheap depth/leadership/PK ability) they're unlikely to be sold.
Now, I think EJ, Girgensons, Okposo and Bryson have those qualities. Bryson because he doesn't need waivers, so an org can stash him till after the deadline or for the playoffs. The rest can be used in depth roles and leadership.
I have significant doubts that Kyle will move. It would need to be a very strong deal to even ask him. He's very involved in his kids' activities and I think he'd rather stay here. - TheSabresTaco
Bryson is getting very close to needing to clear waivers again. Not sure if the break counts towards the 30 days or not. Either way, he'll hit 30 or 10 games well before the TDL.
