Tell me you don't know what you're talking about, without telling me you don't know what you're talking about....that land is within different city limits. Scottsdale, where we live, mayor already said there will be no public funds for any arena project. - Pacificgem
Good on the mayor for taking that stance. |

Could be interesting to see what the team would sell for. I know Ottawa sold for over 900 million, but they had an arena to play in, not sure what a team with no home is worth. - Reubenkincade
I think it's a very similar situation to the Coyotes, the Senators, as in they are both the lowest revenue teams in the league and they both have an arena way out in the sticks, but the Coyotes owner got kicked out of theirs. New owner could get back in with the city of Glendale and Meruelo could pocket 600 million just for hanging around for a few years as the owner. |

That would be a nice return on investment.
On another note, as I was reviewing if stadium size was anywhere in CBA, I seen a clause about Penguins, Devils, Coyotes, and Flyers having shady payroll practices that the league paid out several million dollars to address those concerns.

You'd have to think if it were up for sale, the team would move. They had enough problems finding an owner for the team to stay in Arizona. Someone would pay more from a different city than someone would pay to keep the team there with all the roadblocks.
All the coulds and ifs of staying in Arizona. Salt Lake already has a building to play in that is better than a college rink, and an owner who would build a new arena for them. |

Glendale isn't going to take the Coyotes back, they were burned by the team not paying the lease and back taxes, plus I believe the arena was converted for concert and other events. |

Thanks NYN. Fans who can’t take the gut punch of a game and puke all over the Canucks are soft. They need to suck it up and appreciate where the Canucks are now.
RT has the pulse on this group and they will learn and move on. It was a disappointing turd but it’s just one game. They have beat top teams as NYN alluded to their record. They have more big games ahead to add to it. - Quinn's Quest
Are you referring to Tocchet? Because he basically said the exact same thing after the game as I and others said during the game.
Piss poor efforts have to be called out regardless of a team’s record or who is lacking effort. Not to do so would be soft and, once again, create a country club type atmosphere. I just watched a decade of country-club hockey. I didn’t like it.

I just live in AZ, I don't own the team or decide on arena location, despite what Reuby would have y'all believe...LOL. That said. Craig Morgan says they are not for sale, Meruelo wants to build an entertainment district and he's got his fingers in sports gambling with SaharaBets, an online and digital sports betting platform which he launched last year. He received one of the eighteen available Arizona Gaming Licenses last year due to his ownership of the Coyotes.
I think he's shady as hell but he's not going to let this go until he gets what he wants, he's just realizing that he has to answer to the league and he can't operate like a rogue owner. He's worth over 2 billion dollars, a private arena district would be a huge personal undertaking, financially, but he could make out like a bandit if it all goes through.
PS: he owns two casinos in Nevada as well...one in Vegas and one in Reno. |

The difference is you just female dog and female dog and then whine some more. Tocchet gets pissed, measures his words then talks about what needs to be done, you are still justifying why your female doging.
See the difference, no, ok everyone here back to your regular scheduled female dog session. Team is doomed I tell ya. |

I used to female dog about the team and say they were due for a regression, but they didn't regress, and every team is going to have a stinker now and then and the Canucks were due for one. Better now than in the playoffs when they can fix their issues and still keep afloat. |

Good news on the Coyotes front.
BREAKING 🚨🚨
Per @CraigSMorgan a government source said that the Coyotes arena was discussed today and the meeting went well.
This could be wrapped up in 3 months.
This is NOT final, but it's great news. - Pacificgem

I definitely understand your trepidation, but you're being a bit dramatic, they are in the midst of what could be their best season in their history. They aren't going to win every game and they're going to get their teeth kicked in on occasion with league parity.
On to the next game against a surprisingly good Red Wings team... |

I wouldn't call this good news.
Once shovels actually hit the ground, the new arena will take about 3 years to build, so at the earliest they might be playing in an actual nhl rink with actual nhl seating capacity.
All of this providing that the shovels can hit the ground in that 3 month timeframe. Not sure what type of regulatory rules are in place, but I would think that adds on at least another year.

And that's best case scenario. For an owner who is known for not paying his bills, there are probably going to be a few long delays thrown into the mix... - NewYorkNuck
As in up to 3mths to where they could move to? Move that dog of a franchise yesterday. |

Yes this is also the way I view things, the Bruins have had stinkers but in here it is only the Canucks and it is an ingrained attitude from 1970. 🤷♂️
Like I said last night, win the first round is a huge step forward, make conference finals is massive in the 1st year of gelling and a full year of structured coaching.

NHL buy the team back then auction off to the highest bidder.
The farce has to end & the deluded ones thinking it could work if they stay put out of their misery. |

If I recall correctly, that is against the constitution of the NHL. |

Win the division then winning the 1st should be expected. No PC & it’s still a fantastic turnaround. |

The NFL is similar, Stan Kroenke owns the LA Rams, under the NFL constitution you're not allowed to own another pro sports franchise, so he just put the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets in his kids name. I think he owns Arsenal F.C. as well, but puts them under his holding company.
Billionaires tend to get away with whatever they want, but if you're simply a multi-millionaire trying to own a pro sports team, you're somewhat handcuffed because you're not really rich enough to own a pro sports team. Which we've witnessed with a few NHL teams. |
