I don't know he did have a bad play, but what was Jones doing, isn't the rule you take away the pass and let the goalie deal with the shooter, if that's the case then that goal is more on the Seth Jones than anybody else terrible stick work.
I just don't understand what Bowman saw in Seth Jones.
With all that being said Phillips was still worse than Vlasic and Korchinski last night, i think Korchinski is actually stronger tougher on his skates than Phillips is. - BetweenTheDots
No Dots, he made a bad pass, then coasted back and Garland beat him to the net. Look, I’m a huge Vlasic fan, but that goal was definitely on him. |

I agree about Vlasic i didn't like the fact that he stopped skating when Garland passed the puck, but these are 2 different incidents and both can be true, Seth imo unless LR corrects me, should of prevented the pass instead of trying to block the shot |

I heard it mentioned on the pregame without Bedard the Hawks scoring is down almost a goal per game? |

It doesn’t look like Rockford makes playoffs; they are essentially a .500 team and that is not good enough in their Conference
Watching Rockford is much like sitting through the Blackhawks with or without Bedard. Both the NHL team and their affiliate are lacking quality and quantity at the forward position while there is a sprinkling of prospects on defense.
The top prospects on defense in Chicago are Vlasic and Korchinski. Maybe Crevier after two more AHL seasons but Phillips have to wonder if he can play smarter and effectively in his physical play. Perhaps Phillips needs more minor league rep’s but I am lukewarm on his prospect status
Tuesday night the Icehogs won in OT with DelMaestro’s game winning tally
DelMastro and probably both Allen and Kaiser could be here [NHL] by the end of next season. Murphy should be traded sooner or later. Megda and Tinordi represent fodder and experience which is sort of a joke. So yeah I can see three blue liners hitch up but timing means a lot. By the end of next season the three aforementioned have opportunity for sure
I aim to watch Roos in person but likely will determine he is not NHL material. May not be a bad player yep but it isn’t looking like it would happen in Chicago
Dach had five shots on net |

Except a team can only win the lottery twice in five years?
and does a win also mean this is a win ---going first. if say teams 16 and 15 jump ten spots? They "won"the lottery, right? even if we pick first??????
Islanders win and climb to 4 slot.
Nashville wins and climbs to 3 slot.
(Now the odds seem crazy, but one team could jump up a few and another tam Washington couold jump top the 2 slot and the lowest team is left unscathed...
Hawks still go 1st and San Jose 2nd, they didn't win the lottery so in the hawks case, the could still win the 2025 lottery if they are in 4th slot or so, right?
The words pick first overall were never in the description, right? - wiz1901
I found the lottery odds and rules on the Tankathon site.
https://www.tankathon.com/nhl/pick_odds
Scroll down a bit and their rule #5 states:
Teams are only allowed to improve their positioning via the Lottery twice in a five year period (beginning with the 2022 Lottery).
So, accordingly, if the Hawks finish last and win the 1st overall pick, they do not improve their position and it doesn't count toward the "winning the lottery twice in a five year period". |

That is correct.
You hope if they land #1 and get Macklin they won't need another #1 pick for a long time

So is Celebrini worth the lottery win? Or would they be better off not winning, taking one of the 2-4 players this year, and winning the lottery in one of the next 3 years???

Would like to see what Wiz thinks of this list
https://www.sportsnet.ca/...ankings-february-edition/
Eiserman at 13?
Silayev at #2? - captainserious
If the Hawks draft #2 I'm leaning towards Eiserman, There are other good choices, but the Hawks need goal scoring. Then maybe Jiricek or Hage with Tampa's pick.

Seems as if Celebrini is the consensus #1, but the 2-7 candidates from all the pundits are all over the place. Let's hope the Hawks scouting staff pick does their homework well and get a future impact player from the lot.

That is why I brought it up....I want them to win the next year lottery for James Hagens or Micheal Misa, since in all likelihood we will be BETTER by 2025 Lotto, and unable to win Bedards Cousin, Gavin McKenna, in 2026 unless of course of we don't win the lottery in 2025....
https://www.lines.com/nhl/drafts/2025
and sin e you mentioned need:
I don't ever try to pigeon hole almost all all of the top picks as guaranteed super star quality kids, and that goes for Celebrini. I am not looking to argue the point, but right now I see him and most as NHL quality kids who COULD make high impact, but ... I think of the pitfalls / speed ? and general difference , I think he is a great candidate to predict high success, but I am looking to build an arsenal of high picks - or dreaming of that.
I just think that there are always the chances of drafting a Casey Mittelstadt, who was atop ten, and five/six seasons later, you don't want to answer his asking for a big contract and you are subtracting.
Draft as close to the top as you can , get it right so, all are keepers who you do pay. |

I've got it all figured out. Hawks finish with the worst record this year. and wind up with the 1st choice. This doesn't count as a "lottery win" since they don't improve their position. Hawks show some improvement next season and finish 7th or so from bottom, and WIN the lottery. That would be three years in a row with the 1st overall. Hope that turns out better for them than EDM several years ago.

ICYMI: Pitlick was placed on waivers yesterday.
What other exciting roster moves await as players return from injured reserve? |

They deserve a good team there.
They have been great fans, and so many players put them in situations where they left, and they simply give fans that hope in the future by way of all the kids they draft, and the tree bears little fruit, blooms, and only rotten apples. |

The truth is if we draft like Edmonton we're screwed as an organization, look beyond those 1st round picks and i see terrible pick after terrible pick.

It's never been a free agent destination, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's on a lot of players' no trade lists. Even if they drafted well, how many would choose to become UFA and play in a bigger market? |

Pretty sure that was Tyler Pitlick who was on the Rangers. Rem still shows on the Hawks per CapFriendly. |
