Crevier was in position to make a play he just didn't. I will give him that - BetweenTheDots
No, he wasn't. He was trying to get off the ice or go help the forward but the puck was lost before he could get there after he made a good play to get the puck out of the zone while they were down a man.
Just ice the puck. Katchouk is useless without a blade. |

The puck bounced to the opposite side he was on so he couldn't make the play, Richardinson and Crevier kind of watched at that point almost not knowing what to do. - BetweenTheDots
He had the first opportunity to do something with it and lost a board battle as usual. |

If you watch the replay Crevier did get in positron just didn't defend the pass to the goal scorer.
I know you have a hard on for Raddysh but he never had a chance to ice the puck |

6th and 7th round picks can't be bust. That is reserved for the 7th pick in the 1st round. Get it right. - Elbows15
Fair enough but I'll give him more than a season or two. If 55 ends up being a top 4 dman which isn't out of the question I'd hardly call that a bust.
I know you labelled Mitchell one which didn't exactly work out and I never heard you extolling the virtues of Vlasic panning out the way he has so far...so I think I'll give Korbustski a bit more rope. |

For a 7th pick? He is Gus without the offense. |

Yep...he has no chance to become anything more than he is today as a 19 year old dman. |

Raddysh was defending on the wrong side of the Ranger player and lost the puck battle, Katchouk had a broken skate blade and was being pushed toward the bench by Phillips and Crevier was playing up high in the zone. The whole play was a mess because of Katchouk’s skate problem. But Phillips probably shouldn’t have tried helping him off the ice.
On the first goal there wasn’t much pressure from the forwards and all five Blackhawks stood around watching the Rangers pass the puck around. Korbustsky failed to pick up Lafreniere at the hash marks. |

Phillips has to help him. Else he can't get off the ice in any amount of time. Raddysh had a chance just whack the puck but chose to try to pin it against the boards where he lost a board battle, again. |

I'll point to Vlasic again. He was a big body who can skate. Even before the season he was identified as a guy who "might play NHL games" when they did the prospect rankings in The Athletic.
Seems he's developed into a bit more than that. In the end maybe you're right, but given the state of the team, not sure there's any rush to judge. |

If the Hawks had possession yes, help Katchouk off the ice. But once the Rangers have possession in the Hawk’s zone Phillip’s focus should have been on defending his position. Like you I see the initial breakdown in the neutral zone by Raddysh but it was compounded by Phillips’ decision to help Katchouk off the ice. |

Phillips stopped pushing as soon as the puck was turned over. He has no one in the zone with him when the puck entered the zone. Maybe he thought his guy could win a board battle for once in his life. That was his mistake.
