If the Hawks had possession yes, help Katchouk off the ice. But once the Rangers have possession in the Hawk’s zone Phillip’s focus should have been on defending his position. Like you I see the initial breakdown in the neutral zone by Raddysh but it was compounded by Phillips’ decision to help Katchouk off the ice. - paulr
I agree, while that puck needed to be advanced by Raddysh, Phillips should have waited for that to happen before he helps Katchouk off the ice. So basically they lost Katchouk and Phillips due to Katchouk’s blade, that’s why it wasn’t very smart for Phillips to get engaged there. By the way, Blackwell and Kurashev are playing their butts off. |

Kurashev has played as well as I’ve ever seen him. Unfortunately he isn’t the type of player who can drive a line so he’s not creating much production. I bet, like us, he can’t wait for Bedard to get back. |

Maybe I'm the only one because i guess i see things differently, Reichel just looks so close to being a really good forward. |

You seem to have a lot invested in your opinion for a guy who doesn't care.

He needs to roll up his sleeves and work. I agree he has many of the tools to be an effective forward but the one he lacks, so far, is some grit. If he’s going to be successful he needs to get his nose over the puck and start getting involved along the boards, in the corners and in front of the net. |

There's been more discussion and disection here of the play involving Phillips helping Katchouk off the ice than the Warren Commission review of the Zapruder film. |

Down on the farm Rockford resumed playing after the AHL all Star festivities finished yesterday
Good to see Kaiser back and he had a goal too. Comesso named third star of game in the Icehogs 3-2 OT loss. Dach still out |

Entwistle is having a very strong game tonight. One of the best I’ve seen him play. |

He should be a point or two a game player after 50 NHL games. Who cares if he can move the puck. |

I could have told you he was a bust the day his name was announced at the draft! |

A few posters have been critical of Richardson’s coaching. He has to get a ton of credit not only for getting a rag tag bunch of AHLers and rookies to play hard every game. But more importantly I’m seeing improvement in the defensive play of Korbustsky, Vlasic, Crevier and even the bum du jour Phillip every game. |

Agree. Probably just jinxed them but we're seeing fewer of those blowout games that were happening early on. Don't rush it but can't wait til Bustard gets back. |

Good game tonight, sure I'm critical, but i still stands by there's no rush to trade anyone and if they don't work out they don't work out.

I will agree that if Raddysh was on the right side of the opponent he would of had a much better chance to make a play, but he really had no chance to ice the puck at any time the puck went to the boards |

I .. uh ... did appreciate that Foligno goal --- as that was nearly classic Gus ... apart from the part about being close to his own goal ... Foligno just calmly establishes position and basically blocks to defender (term used very loosely in Gus' cse- as it always was) out - ... like as what the D man usually is trying to do to the forward down that low ...
and bingo - rebound -and in... good to see he's as effective as usual. |

The flipside of that is - that someone has to want what you got to trade - and I don't really see anyone just dying to find one of those spare parts as their missing ingredient for a playoffs push ... I mean, I could be wrong because ... well ... because Nick Boynton existed ... |

Would Holland, Edmonton GM, take T Johnson for next to nothing if he cannot land a top six forward at the trade deadline?
We pay a certain percentage of T Johnson contract and receive a 5th round draft choice |
