Ok, I'll play:
3-2-3-2-1
I think I have a nice detailed person opinion profile on the first two rounds of the 2024 Prospects in my 7 round Mock.
And I made sure I have the profiles of ALL the supposed Hawk picks (except Ondrej Kos):

And on that play were left hanging because the forward didn't recognize WTF was happening.
Crevier made a solid play to get the zone cleared. I think it was Donato should have just whacked the puck down the ice instead of getting into a board battle. Phillips was trying to get Katchouk off the ice when the puck was turned over and was caught in no man's land. crevier moved up to help the forward but the puck was lost before he could get there.
But yeah. Its always the D-men fault on goals. *sigh* - Elbows15
It was a dumb play by crevier… should have waited to push the guy to the bench until puck was cleared |

The puck bounced to the opposite side he was on so he couldn't make the play, Richardinson and Crevier kind of watched at that point almost not knowing what to do. - BetweenTheDots

In the ‘24 draft I think things will get interesting with the Hawks second 1st round pick. Do you think anyone will fall into KD’s lap like Moore did? |

Sorry to be the eternal nitpicker:
- Was interested in the A J White profile, he sounds interesting, but is coming up listed as LHC, maybe website is flaky on these position listings
- Think #137 belongs to Calgary now (Beauviller then Zadorov trade) - kind of like the sound of the Red Army team forward there at 137.
---------
Hiroki Gojsic - Kelowna - has been noticeable recently (currently #170):
https://www.eliteprospect...ayer/597554/hiroki-gojsic
Good size and his scoring has picked up:

Wouldn't mind getting a few of these late picks back to try for a long shot or two.....

Catton is doing a Teravainen-like slide into the teens - probably would have to trade up to get him though.
Maybe Helenius?

It’s early, but I’d be ok with either of those. |

I’ll take Celebrini and Adam Jiricek, then I’m good with whomever they draft after that. Jiricek(RD)had knee surgery, so maybe he’ll drop to Tampa’s pick. Wiz, how would you compare Yakemchuk to say Rinzel, are they similar players?

Modern day record breakers
Blackhawks three Cups in six years
Now comes KC Chiefs three Super Bowl in five years. They have most glorious accomplishment
* plead ignorance any NBA record. Golden state Warriors maybe?
ADD OMG-osh The basketball record titles in 2015, ‘17, ‘18 and ‘22. They were golden

Sorry, the adjective glorious is reserved to describe a large amount of cap space that a GM worked hard to earn. |

Re: the hockeybuzz NYR analysis of their victory against us included:
Gus on ice and to blame for two goals against. But hard to completely blame the goaltender on those two goals. Shesterkinnhasxbeennso good however that he is expected to stop even those sort of goals. Nonetheless Gusxeill keep his spot on blue line crew.
Blame also on NYR top six forwards compete level notwithstanding worthless line juggling |

Oh I see
New definition in Webster’s dictionary under the guise of hockey cap space
Ok thanks for enlightenment
BTW there are over 25 million idiomatic expressions in the English language
Now if you look at synonymous expressions you could link Gus sucks and Toronto chokes again! |

Trade deadline
Immediate thoughts
Murphy stays healthier he might have brought us another second round selection. The better time to unload him is at next trade deadline for various reasons
Tinordi is a mule on skates but will they move him if they receive only a 4th or 5th? |

I think T Johnson and Blackwell will be the only Hawks moved at the deadline.
For TJ I’d expect a Soderberg type of deal - a prospect on the same level as Rolston.
Blackwell should net a Carpenter type of return - 5th round pick (maybe a 4th).

I had Aatos Koivu as a sentimental pick to Minny in the second round but came to reality and moved him to 1#04 Minny slot.
I can decide later if he is worthy of elevation or even a true second rounder..
Maybe it just me, but I am starting to like this class a lot more since more guys are elevating their games, making things difficult to mock.
I just think my second round have players that could go in the first and that there are guys with STRONG developmental depth and may play in th enHL into the 100's and that impressive...

I was hoping that Jiricke lasts that long too.
I think they have been very good at calming Rinzel's game, and building his hockey acumen, working on his all around tendencies as guy his size, and are trying to have him understand and play to his maximum capacity ---and keep working to improve his game, because it might lead to a more finished product that one picked late in the first. In his case they want teh good habits repeated and hope that they lead to confidence as an all around defender.
I think Yakemchuk is still mighty irresponsible up ice, and carelessly / selfishly has caused more than a few times when his jumps are possession losses, that actually hurt his team.
I am not so sure you want to try and teach it out of him, but he will get better and his own end and he isn't afraid to play physically. He has better all around feel for his position and maybe a bit too much overconfidence b/c he is isn't that great a defender yet, but his habits as a defender are not emphasized or being concentrated on just yet.
If you are thinking he is there by Tampa's playoff bound teams section, I truly think he is gone, that somebody takes him, b/c the feet, size, and ability as an attacker will be too tempting to pass.
