where he's always been. Lajoie was called up ...he wasn't given a job. - The Law
Lagesson's already played 21 games this year, is a lefty; basically a wash between him and Lajoie experience wise, as both have played roughly the same number of games (81/75) in the NHL.
Maybe they're rewarding Lajoie, but the cap gymnastics with Kampf and Woll on IR... something's up.

I imagine when they can make space to call up a veteran they do ...it's a bigger paycheque for them and probably a bit of a promise when they sign.
And with McCabe feeling sick ...why not.
It's trade season so poop could be up but this transaction doesn't do anything for the cap or roster that would make a trade more likely.

Tampa doesn't have many assets to play with at the deadline, but Briesbois is not afraid to push all of his chips to the center of the table if he really wants something. That can be good or bad. It used to be good. Lately it's been bad.
Toronto may win a bidding war for a d-man, if Tree is willing to give up a first or more.
If I was Briesbois, I wouldn't get into a fight over Tanev, no offense to him. He's aging and is not the type Briesbois will want to resign, and Tampa has shown a reluctance to acquire pure rentals.
Hanifin is another story, but I don't think Tampa has the picks and prospects to compete in a bidding war for him. Briesbois shot Tampa's load on Jeannot and now they're hands are tied.
Lightning should stand pat - take a run with what they have and retool for next season with a fully healed Vasi. Depending on what happens with the Leafs' goaltending situtation, they might be best served to resist pissing away assets on rentals.

Slim Tim probably gets in tonight. - The Law
Yeah, Gio and McCabe missed practice so they bring up another guy to cover the left side just in case and make a paper move of Woll onto LTIR so they have room for him. Gio also missed skate this morning
