Yeah for sure, not implying this was as bad...but 21 games is an astronomical number of games for a suspension. Also Hunter had the history of repeatedly being a scumbag.

But I won't be surprised if Rielly gets in the neighborhood of 8 games, give or take 1.

Reilly has been kind of polarizing to Leaf fans. Now, he will almost surely be remembered fondly by 99% of them. He will not cost them a playoff appearance, any more than you can point to one game out of 82 that costs them. They need to be better in many areas and an event like this is WAY more likely to bring them together and lift them up than it is to deflate them from missing his play.

But anyone arguing smacking someone in the face with a stick in response to this, or in almost any situation in life, is a freak. There’s a million miles between doing nothing and doing what Reilly did. There really isn’t much nuance here coming from me. I’ve been saying exactly this since yesterday

I remember the hit had Tangredi. Gillies was such a piece of poop. He was the only problem I had in that incident. Michael Haley was the event in that game I liked that most.
