As of now we’re set to pick 23, 30, and 36. That bj’s 2nd rounder looking better and better. Ammunition to move up if desired

I think we’re in a good spot. I’d like to get one more high pick by dealing Walker seeler Laughton and I’d love to flip RR some miraculous way.

Maybe it was an unwritten rule I’m not aware of but regardless, it was a stupid reaction from Reilly. Now he could face a stiff suspension in an important time of year. I think in that instance, you maybe grab him and try to fight but cross check to the head after the whistle. Wow. And you’re right. Leafs fans are the worst.

I actually feel bad for Leaf fans sometimes. The amount of money they pay to see a game is ridiculous. They pay a lot to see a team do just enough to win and make the playoffs then just blown it.

With that said, yes they can be the worst.

Absolutely, and sometimes that’s better than a first if you’re talking about a return from a really good team. Pick #28 not as good as an A prospect
- ClaudeFather

danny boy needs to hit a home run at this deadline imo.

They are adorable they think they’re contenders. It’s weird that they can maintain such a positive outlook. Must be a canadian thing

Flyers have played 4 more games than Pittsburgh. Even if Pitt wins all four games, we’d still be one point ahead of them. Devils and Islanders both can’t catch up. Right now only the Flyers have a say on what happens next in terms of making the playoffs.
- roenick97

Good points. Not sure why anyone would be worrying about Pitt at this stage. In the words of Herb Brooks “They’re done.” The big three can’t carry that team to higher heights anymore. Even if they should sneak in somehow, they are not a threat. Their last 5 appearances in the playoffs, I believe they have been bounced each time in the first round with like 4 of them being sweeps. At least for us, we started turning over our roster, which they haven’t come to grips yet, that they need to.

This is not a deep draft at all. Going to be critical to use these picks wisely either moving up or trading for prospects like a Tippett who has skills but not breaking through a lineup

Not a " Canadian thing", just a Leaf fan base mentality, living here i see and hear it every day. 40M on 4 forwards...kind of hard to have a balanced team, I have that argument with many of them

Konecny, Laughton, Hathaway etc having multiple years left gives Briere some breathing room IMO. He can leverage that aspect to hold out for the deal he wants. Hopefully, as has been said, he may be able to score a real good prospect in dealing them NOW. We all know the teams who will be dealing, even if they do offer picks, they will be late in the round, most likely in the 20's. If you get a 1st plus you absolutely deal them. But if not, I say wait, try again at the draft where more teams and higher picks may be available. The point is, he should deal from strength, because he has the leverage.

But it isn't like he HAS to deal them or lose them as if they were on expiring contracts like Walker. I would be VERY disappointed if Walker isn't dealt for a pick and prospect. Even if it is a 2nd rounder. I think getting young prospects back is just as important. We need talent IN system, because except for MM, our entire prospect base is bottom 9/middle 6 players at best.

my concern is the coach/gm has more say at the nhl level type moves; he will dictate who will be dealt or not dealt.

we shall see.

I want to focus on who they will possibly acquire if they decide to be a buyer somewhat.

all kidding aside the flyers imo are in a very good spot if they really want to take the next 2 steps forward in this supposed rebuild.

they have pieces other teams I think would really want. They can sell high on all of them. Some of these teams are hurting for Dman. Walker and Seeler can def help these teams. Risto? I myself do not believe any of these trade rumors. If you can move him with 0 retention you easily do it. He played the least amount of minutes yet again last night. Would even offer a mid rd pick back to dump him.

Danny is in the drivers seat to me. I also think some of these teams may want to make moves now before they fall too far out or to put some breathing room between them.

excluding MM flyers have no real elite/blue chip prospects coming up. No slam dunks. They need to acquire picks/prospects/young nhl players to help in that area. The more you have the more moves you allow yourself to make to improve.

Take a look at TK and how long it took him to get to the level he is at now. Flyers do not even have a TK in the system. If the other prospects still need a few years to raise their game signing TK is the wrong move. He will clearly be on the wrong side of his "prime" when ready to contend.

Sanheim, no idea what the market would be for him though it would be smart to check it out. He has an ok contract plays a game that shouldn't  deteriorate. Think teams would be interested seeing how many seem to lack quality players on the backend. Now would they want to move him? he is never going to be a top pair dman. solid 2nd pair guy which is what teams can use.

with the hart extra cap space they need to utilize that space. It remains to be seen if they will. To not is bad business.

dont want to hear danny on the job only less than year. This deadline he can shape this team for the future in a very positive way. he needs to be proactive and not a scared dog.

- hello it's me 2050

Hopefully DB is very active between now and the deadline. From what most scouts are saying this years draft has a cliff at around the 20th pick. Thus some late 1rst rounders may be available .

Yes, I gave up going to games in Toronto. I just go to Buffalo to watch the Flyers , get level 100 seats, and hotel for cheaper than a ticket at Leaf game

Some good discussion here and I think most are in agreement with what the Flyers should do. It is unlikely, however, for the reasons we already know (Two thirds of the triumvirate, Flyers like their guys, won’t sell high, etc)

Can Danny break free of the Flyers culture and put his mark on this team? Or will he continue to be a collaborator?

Sadly, the Columbus pick has conditions. They can choose whether it's this year or 2025 after the first round. Though I doubt they'll be much better next year anyway given what's gone on there this season.

At least PUBLICLY he has been saying the right things. "we cant fall in love", "we have to listen and make deals if they make sense" etc.

Behind closed doors it may be different, but going on what Torts has been saying I am in a wait and see mode.

My prediction: Laughton and Walker are dealt.

I willing bet big folding paper money Laughton is an offseason deal. He starts the PK and is dangerous shorthanded. He’s a very handy player both now and in the playoffs. I think him wearing a letter right now comes into play.

Apparently it is an unwritten code, you can't take a slapshot into an empty net ??? It was a DBAG move by him Reily, Leaf fans will always be the worst
- 3flyerkids

I have to disagree on this one. It was Greig being the Dbag showing up the Leafs and I'm glad that he had to answer for his idiocy.

The funny thing is that there was a Laffs fan on these blogs banning flyers fans from a Flyers blog. Like, how the hell did that come about? I hate the Laffs as much as I do the Pens and Rags based on their obnoxious fanbase. I also listen to Sirius/XM NHL Network in the car a lot and those clowns act like it the Laffs/Oil and then everyone else. That Steve Kouleas turd it the worst.

Kaapo Kakko is allegedly available. Rangers allegedly looking to move Goodrow.

Would a laughton, GH, + get a conversation started for those 2 above? Would either team do it?
