Agree however of all the playoff teams currently in position, Flyers are the only ones who won't (or at least shouldn't) be buyers.
Devils and Canes will add. Pittsburgh didn't acquire Karlsson to miss the playoffs, they'll try to add. Metro teams are going to try to get better NOW. Flyers might try to get better long term. - Pelle31Forever Yeah, I was referring to the upcoming seasons. The Pens have to go all in cause their window is almost shut (it is shut in my opinion). The Canes and Devils will be good most likely for the long haul, but the rest of the teams in the Metro look to leave lots to be desired in the coming seasons. |

Kaapo Kakko is allegedly available. Rangers allegedly looking to move Goodrow.
Would a laughton, GH, + get a conversation started for those 2 above? Would either team do it? - hello it's me 2050
Why on Earth would there Flyers want Kakko? |

because he has the goods.
why wouldn't they want him? coming off a 42 point season. down this year. still plenty of upside. plays strong 2 way game. they type of player your godlike coach would love no? |
|
|
|
At least PUBLICLY he has been saying the right things. "we cant fall in love", "we have to listen and make deals if they make sense" etc.
Behind closed doors it may be different, but going on what Torts has been saying I am in a wait and see mode.
My prediction: Laughton and Walker are dealt. - MBFlyerfan
Walker probably Laughton I dont see it. Too many yrs left on that contract to get anything worthwhile. Think best they could do is late 2nd or 3rd for him |

Maybe Laughton and Frost but honestly dont see Rangers trading Kakko now. Maybe over summer have to make room for Othermann and some other fwd prospects they have |

Would you give up a 1st for Walker? - Pelle31Forever
Walker is not bringing a 1st |

The Flyers have put themselves in a very interesting situation to say the least. No one (themselves probably included) expected them to be in this spot at this time of year. I thought Zamula had a rough game against Winnipeg and I'm not surprised he sat last night. Lots of decisions to be made in the next few weeks cause it certainly looks like they are going to remain in contention for a playoff spot. - Phillywhiteout
After the first period, the entire team had a rough game against Winnipeg. Zamula's performance did not stand out negatively from his teammates.

Let me think. He's young, very talented and still if healthy has the potential to be a very good player?

I admit I don’t watch the Rangers (puke) but all I hear is how much of a bust this guy is….could he pull a Tippet? If not, and he’s just “good”, there is no reason to bring him in. Anything you bring back for these assets needs to be a big swing to potentially find high end talent IMO |

well that would be a big swing for potentially high end talent don't you think?
what type of big swing player do you think a Laughton or GH will bring back?

Walker is not bringing a 1st - hfc355
Agree….im starting to get the feeling he’s gonna be part of a multi player deal (Laughton? Seeler? TK!!!!!????) to make sure they are at least getting one more first in this draft. Those first round picks won’t yield a high impact prospect so I can see them using multiple along with a Brink or an Andrea to get back a top pick or a A prospect |

If he can be like Tippet I would think….again I don’t know about Kakko. I only read he sucks, constantly.
Also, I think a combo of Laughton/Walker/etc is going to be used to get a third first rounder which is in turn going to be used to get a high end prospect/early pick |

Walker is not bringing a 1st - hfc355
I cant say that for sure. Depends what teams view him as on their backend. things change daily. if he could have got back a first weeks ago (as some reported) and now he doesn't, just another case of danny boy misreading the market.
if not a 1st rather see the flyers try to add pick/prospect to walker to get that first |

While I think Laughton will be dealt eventually, I do have concern that it will wait until the offseason if they want to give him a chance to win here if we make the playoffs. I hope I’m wrong.

That is a big swing potentially. Do you think anything the Flyers might be trading is going to being in a talent of that level? I seriously doubt it unless the Flyers get lucky with a late pick. He showed real promise last season. I don't think the Flyers have the assets to get him but unless they trade someone like Konecny. They're not likely to do better in potential.

I agree. I see 2 players tops being dealt. I think they want to see what they have with this group. - Pelle31Forever
If anyone goes, it’s probably Walker and that’s it. |

Don’t think Zamula is bad. I just think the only thing that stands out and makes him anything special is his work on the power play. |

Far from a bust. Scoredx18 goals 40 pts last yr as 22 yr old. Always a plus player excellent defensively. Injured this yr missed ton games but back healthy now. |

I agree with both (if not more?) of you that Kakko is the right type of move in a hockey trade if he actually still can take the next step….i just thought he was “meh”.
Again, I think any non TK deals are going to be to try and get First round pick number 3, and then leverage them+ to try and get something nice! |

You are right. Flyers stay in playoff hunt , and solidly in it now, they aren't trading anyone but Walker. They are not going to risk not making the playoffs rebuild or not. |

I don't think the Flyers can get him or if he is even available. I'd take Kakko over a late first rounder every day of the week.

Truth….but, as an asset, Kakko isn’t as liquid as that first round pick. I really think DB is going to want to wield multiple firsts to try and land something big at the draft.
But, I do yield, in vacuum, getting a young player like Kakko is definitely better than a late first |
|
|
|
In the same realm, there has been talk of Kneis of Toronto being the “instead of a first” for the Leafs.
Thoughts? He’s a big kid |

What does liquid mean? I think Kakko has more value than a potential late first rounder. I think if I'm reading you correctly you think the Flyers can package a late first rounder and move up into the top of the draft. I seriously doubt that.
Now I'm going to preface this with I don't think the Rangers would do something like this and the Flyers might not want to trade with the Rangers, but how how about these fantasy deals?
Flyers trade Konecny with 50% retained for Kakko, Braden Schneider or Brennan Othmann and another pick?
Or Konecny at 50% retained for Gabe Perrault and a 1st round pick? |
