- Grieg was a clown move…but I don’t mind the crap disturber players in hockey so it is what it is. He did it some teammates will like it some won’t.

- retaliation was necessary. I also like Rielly there.

- stick ride up off shoulder into head. Unfortunate cause now it’s talk about suspension or a fine.

- would have like to see Grieg do it then him and Rielly fight ideally.

- Insane for anything suspension wise when you look at other incidents around league. For example only ONE GAME (Lizzotte on Morrissey). One bloody game and some folks here want 5+??

- Rielly is Leaf so it will be 3+. Garbage league.

You continue to be the biggest crybaby on this site. lol. The real hope out of all of this is that every team rips slapshots into the open net against the Leafs from now on!

Spatso, what you've just written is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Part of me kind of wants Reilly to get 5 or 6 so that leafs can have a screw you attitude and maybe come together and go on a run here.

Not sure I like their odds with a defense of

Brodie-Timmins

What he did was not being a poop disturber.

The game was over, the season series was over.

poop disturbers do it to get an edge in the game to help your team win. Not even Marchand would do that poop, it’s just classless and not what hockey players should attain to be.

I disagree. He did it to be an ass. Crap disturber. Rat-like behaviour. His objective was to be an ass and piss off leafs. Disturb them. He did.

No need to argue over the word crap disturber though.

Nah

There’s a difference between being a poop disturber and just plain classless.

You don’t see Marchand doing this crap, very respectful guy in the handshake lines in the playoffs.

The game was over and there won’t be a sens/leafs game this season. Absolutely zero reason to do it.

Even Giroux couldn’t defend the kid.

14-2-1 without Rielly last year.

Really it'll be up to the forward group to up their game.

im not really bothered if he missed games.
great offense, but very suspect defense.

It was taunting. It's the best word to describe it. The NBA gives a tech and a fine. Soccer gives a yellow and a fine. NFL ..maybe a fine and 10 yard penalty sometimes?

The kids a douche. Giroux will mentor him. Too bad they don't play again this year - I wonder if the kid would have done it if he knew they were playing again soon. (frank) him ... but it is what it is.

Rielly gets 5 ..probably. Next time slash him on the pads and make him drop the gloves.

Most importantly the Leafs need to use this as motivation.

Ya, I remember that stretch really well. Leafs played superb defensive hockey without him. Everybody got a little tighter/structured and the Brodie-Holl combo was dynamite.

He would not

It is sad a kid on a 28th place team who knows he never has to face this roster again feels the need to do that.

I am a big advocate for protecting players...but if a player does poop like that he deserves a beating.

I wish someone Gudbrandson'd him instead.

This, here’s what Mark Masters was saying their pairings were in practice:

Leafs D in pre-practice work

Brodie - Liljegren
Benoit - McCabe
Giordano - Lagesson
Rielly - Lajoie

Timmins absent (missed Saturday due to illness)

Last year, despite the start of some declining speed in his game, we could still rely on Brodie. This year he is not only slower, he is less engaged, less focused and more of a liability. Like I compare this year's defense to last year's defense (at this time) and you had:

Rielly - Brodie
Giordano - Holl
Sandin - Liljegren

vs.

Rielly - Brodie
McCabe - Benoit
Giordano - Liljegren

Gio was playing too many minutes last year and this year they have managed to move him down. Benoit is really not much different than Holl - he's actually faster and more physical, but at times he's arguably slower to react to certain situations. He's certainly not a problem, despite being mostly a tweener for his career.

I mean on paper that defense was as good as last year's defense was at this time, if not perhaps a little more solid. But when our 1RHD has fallen off a cliff the way that Brodie has, there is massive exposure. Losing Rielly, who has been massively covering up for him, is going to really strain this team.

That said, I like Timmins and would like to see him get more time. I still don't know why Keefe dislikes him so much.

I am pretty sure Brodies fancy D stats are still good...But I think its due to Rielly.

Last game Brodie was (frank)ing terrible, Benoit moves the puck like EK out there compared to Brodie.

I need to watch other teams more right now and see if they have a D that is THAT bad and slow at moving the puck in all zones.

I feel for him and his situation with his wife but even though he does do some things well I think they are better off without him in the lineup at this point. The F's need d that can snap them the puck quick. It feels like he is just disrupting the teams rhythm out there.
