Make Rielly captain.

Trade Nylander for Henrique, Gudas, and Zellweger.

Trade Brodie, Liljegren, and Robertson for Laughton and Risto.

You need tough players to win in the playoffs. Gudas, Risto, Laughton, Henrique are all massive uprgrades in that area.

Reposting my response: this team probably doesn't make the playoffs.

You've built a one-line team, the D is a marginal at best improvement and in the process of your juvenile trades (where the other GMs can't stop laughing), are ensuring we have a single RHD, while not doing anything in net.

You guys have been saying Risto sucks forever, and he’s always been good. And he plays with passion. Something this team needs more of.

Henrique is not overrated, you just underrate defence. I don’t. I think it’s equally important as offence. So players need to be proficient in both. (Willy -3 lastnight) I really have no idea why you guys continue to overlook this critical flaw of his.

Moving on…

Brodie is done. He’s not the same player. Move that contract and get something in return if you can. Lilly will never be anything more than a bottom pair guy.

Zellweger will be a good defender, I’m always looking to the future. It’s how you build a dynasty team, not a one pump and dump.

Knies will continue to grow. He’s getting better. He goes to the dirty areas. I can see him becoming Hyman.

I HATE playing Gudas. I want the prik on my team. Laughton is NASTY, size and snot. You can slot him in the top 6 to keep the flies off too.

I really don’t mean to sound obtuse, but I think so many of you are copacetic and actually enjoy the pain of failure. You don’t know how to feel if they change, and become a legit contender. You rather piss and moan at the mean team that always beats us. THEY’RE TOO MEAN AND ITS NOT FAIR! essentially is what you’d all do. I say we embrace being heel, and bring back the type of hockey that gave me the PASSION in the first place.

Clarke beating the brakes off McSorely, and seeing the newspaper the next morning, is what cemented me as a Leaf fan for life.


PS. saying that lineup wouldn’t make the playoffs is really, realllllly dumb.

5-6 games seems steep to me. 2 or 3 games would be more reasonable and suited to the circumstances.

Does anybody else think it is a mistake to allow Ridley Greig to think he can trigger the Leafs so easily. Grieg is a highly talented rookie. He is a superb defensive player. Why do the Leafs want to feed the kid?

Bad form retaliation. Offered an in-person hearing. That is the pre-cursor to a greater than 5 games suspension. Not saying he will get that but, the meeting may be an indication.

He has not and would never do that because its a classless piece of poop move.

If he wants to do that next game then yeah, he will have to answer for it.

Risto does suck and has for a long time.
Him and gudas would have the leafs short handed all the time.
The trades just arent good imo. I know you have to move willie for whatever, but thats a bad trade.
Im all for getting more physical guys but just not those moves

For me its never too late to change the coach. Hell LA did it just a week ago. Gallant or Berube for me though havecwanted Gallant from offseason. Strong structure, tries to make a team identity, and good with players but tough too.

After that fix goaltending. Dont have any trust or faith in him. Would try to do a swap with the Wild and grab Fleury to go with Jones. Let Woll get back then address who will be backup.

D Id take Gudas. Wouldnt mind that physical snarl with experience back there. Maybe you move Brodie and add Tanev still too.

After that maybe try to get a center for third line.

Not really. Bad move that will cost Rielly and the team. Have to wait for your opportunity. There was absolutely nothing gained. Not the same as wacking a player for taking liberties with your goalie. With goon Parros making the decision, even though Rielly was a Lady Byng candidate prior to the call, he gets five or six games maybe more. Keefe should be on the clock at this point, if he can't get more out this group of talent, fire him into the sun.
