He's really tailed off this year from his reasonably hot start. It's like whenever he goes on a run, and teams have film on it and take him away, then he goes dry for a while. Generally talking powerplay. Wish he produced just a bit more 5on5. Love that drive to the net earlier, we used to see that a lot more from him early in his career

I will admit, Kreider puts in work on the boards that keeps the plays alive that doesnt get seen on the scoreboard. However as Ive criticized him endlessly about, hes not the type of player that will elevate the guys around him. Which is why Ive said so many times that he should be on the 3rd line. Id rather have a guy like Cuylle who is a shooter as well as someone who will crash the net with Mika.

You cant put Trocheck on RW. Not at this point of the season. Hes the second best faceoff guy in the league. His ability to win those draws and keep possession is what makes that line so effective. At the beginning of the year, my idea was to have Trocheck play RW next to Chytil since Chytil prefers to play C but Trocheck is far and away better at faceoffs. Panarin, Chytil, Trocheck would have been the 2nd line.
