Yea could see that..get Dowd too as an example. You know I’m with you on sissons, I just haven’t seen anything where he’s available and it’s mostly us saying it. Rolling 4 lines would be a huge benefit to the lineup. They need to find a way to scratch Goodrow to make that really work tho
- Slimtj100

The way to scratch Goodrow would be to grab Trenin from the Preds along with Sissons and play Trenin, Sissons and Vesey together.

Theres nothing to suggest they will, especially since theyre still kind of battling for a wild card spot. However, I think Trotz, like Yzerman did last year, should realize theres really no reason to push and should try to accumulate assets to keep rebuilding the team.

at the very least, the emergence of JBrod has allowed them to wait it out now and not panic at all and get a deal they like. It’s definitely calmed my nerves haha

And maaaaaybe Edstrom can develop into the 12th F by the end of the season too. Which is probably why he’s being given a chance now, or Rempe (less likely)

I dont think they ever really panicked, were the ones panicking. Theyre winning, great, but the wins havent been particularly convincing. The PP has stagnated now. Kreider & Mika are a huge problem. Wheeler, although had a good game, also a problem. We need to figure out why the hell we cant score.

Edstrom should and probably will be a nice plug to have as far as a depth forward going into the playoffs.

They need to stop passing up on good shooting angles. Be a little more selfish and shoot da puck (Barry)!

Yea it’s gotten extremely pass happy the PP. Last night was the worst it looked all month or two long. It was amazing they didn’t give up a shorty on that last one in the 3rd period. It was bound to happen being how good it was all season. They have time to fix it, but the mash up they tried didn’t look great either imo

They could also get Henrique and use him at RW with going to center as an option. He’s playing wing for the ducks atm I noticed

Those two need someone who can skate with them, I’ve said it all year and stand by it. Kakko and wheeler just aren’t fast enough for them

This is why the comparison to Ovi doesnt work in terms of you know what hes going to do and hes been doing it for almost 20 years. There is no shot that Ovi considers a bad shot. This is the problem with Mika. He will ONLY shoot if the shot is perfect instead of ripping shots at will and making victims of anyone getting in the way.

lol, I look forward to a day when people are actually happy with what we have.
PP was rolling, worrying about 5v5 scoring. Now, riding a 5 game win streak, averaging 3.6 goals per game, all 5v5 or shorthanded, worrying about PP.

(none of this aimed at you particularly, just seemed the right comment to respond to)

Tones, why can’t we ever just get better? Complacency gets you just far enough to lose.

Because I always prefer to have faith in the guys we have!!!
Believe me, once a trade is made I accept the new players into the fold and they are ours (except losing Quickie, that still hurts). But, I want to win as we are and believe there is no perfect roster and every team must overcome deficiencies to win the Cup.

I try not to knock you guys for the trades. I just find it amusing (annoying?) that no matter what, tinkering "needs" to be done. We're 3rd overall in the league and apparently that means guys need to worry about being traded.

They are too close imo to not finish off the job, in this case the roster. I get what you’re saying but they really are that close imo

Vancouver is the perfect example of what to do. It may not work out, but hey they are trying like hell to make it happen (Lindholm)

Because those of us who dont just blindly accept it know what we have and how were playing is not good enough to make a deep run in the playoffs. Lets just focus on the 4 games after the all-star break. We were losing to the Avs, and didnt particularly look great. Managed to dig a win out in OT. Bolts, cant say we looked particularly great in the 1st there either, but we pulled that out unfortunately with a gruesome injury to Sergachev. Hawks? We were up 3-1 and allowed them to get back into the game and took us to OT, bad. Last night, was the first game where I can say that we looked good in the first however we were getting absolutely stoned by Markstrom. In saying all that, just because we won, doesnt mean anything.

I don't blindly accept anything. Except that we have players that can adapt or improve from where we are.
Other than that, it seems to me that many here blindly accept that we are the only team that isn't perfect and has fallible human beings on the roster. Everything you described above are things that every team works through. Only difference is that many other teams wouldn't have won every one of those games.
I don't need us to be perfect or have zero holes on paper. Just need honest effort every game from our really good roster. I feel like I've seen that in 95+% of our games this season.

Edit:
there is NO anger in my statements, please don't read them as being that way.
