I've been on the record about this take before, but I repeat it because it's true :

I get more enjoyment from watching Leafs games now than I do from watching Tampa.

Tampa is an aging core on the decline. A quasi-dynasty that died before it was properly born. Best team run since Chicago and Pittsburgh. Back to back champs. But, what have you done for me lately? Not much. Frustrating to watch. Tampa now gets Leafy outcomes. I watch most Tampa games and it does not spark joy.

Leafs core is at it's peak. It's overdue for a deep run. I have more hope for the Leafs in the next couple of seasons, compared to Tampa.

Either way, I root for the Blue and White.

And yes, I started early tonight. Edibles consumed. Tall glass of cold sangria. Baked lemon pepper chicken in the oven.

Bonus hot take : Matthews is the new Stamkos.
