It's not about "Flyers hockey". I think the issue is Frost has not played consistently. Now over this past season, especially since the beginning of January, he has played more assertively and has also done the job defensively, and I think if he continues to do this, no one will have an issue with him, and the crusade can finally end. - jd250
If it was about consistency a good group of Flyers players would draw the same wrath from the fans. Frost is not the type of player traditional Flyer fans like. He is also not the type of player Torts likes. Hence the constant overboard criticism from some of the fans.
Frost has proven his mental toughness over the last two years. He has also improved his overall game a ton. Frankly, that is what I want from/for every Flyers player.

It amazes me to no end how some people actually think the way you do. Of course the game has morphed, but unless they remove all physical play, all fighting, then guys like ND will find a job. There’s a reason the NHL is still scattered with guys like him. The major difference is that in the last 20 years these guys have to be able to keep up with the play….the game is faster, there’s less impeding allowed in the game.
And of course he’s protected his teammates….that’s why a guy like Scott Laughton goes on the radio and specifically mentions them.
Now will the NHL become what you think it is? Maybe one day….hopefully I never have to see it. - landros 2
ND is fn useless. Say it fn useless. He protects no one. Not 1 player worries about what ND will do to them. they laugh at him really.
Any examples of when he protected a flyers player? |

Seeler has been good this year…he was good for the most part last year. Him and Walker have been their most consistent pair all year. It all starts on the back end. If you can get that type of play your goaltending looks better, your structure looks better and your forwards can thrive. - landros 2

Read my post again where I specifically said I didn't think Vancouver would give up a st for Risto even with salary retention. You can't learn if you can't read. - jd250
you giving anyone advice on reading/comprehension is entertainment.
RR does not have positive value. |

Heard Vancouver is kicking the tires on Risto, and I read the Flyers are willing to retain 20%-30% of his salary but if they do the Flyers want a 1st round pick in return. Not sure the Canucks would do this, but as an alternative I would take Vancouver's 3rd this year and their 2nd round pick next year for Risto with 25% salary retention. - jd250
If they take Risto off our hands and pay 70-80%, the flyers should also pay for his plane ticket and moving expenses and laugh all the way to the airport

X is reporting Risto injury more significant than thought …out for a month +
Edit: does that effect DB at trade deadline….does he have built in excuse? |

And that's just the tippy tip of the iceberg with this guy - jd250
Tip of the iceberg to what? There is a public record. You are reverting further and further into rhetoric and hyperbole. I would say that it is further deteriorating your credibility, but that's not possible. It couldn't get any lower. |

The real issue with Frost is that he does not play like a "Flyer" so most fans do not like him. On the other hand people also think because he is a skilled player he should somehow be scoring 70-80 points a season.
He is a talented player that seems to be growing into the middle six center role. His overall game has improved the last two seasons and he is starting to put up more points.
That's enough for me. The Flyers really need him to be a legit NHL center that contributes 55-65 points a season or more. - mickel25
Here is the thing, the flyers have zero centers after ex selke and frost.
So you think logically they would be doing everything they can to make sure he is successful; they have nothing after those 2. Instead it is more likely he is traded.

You know there are some people on this forum that think I'm a fraud, and hey, it bothers me a bit but that is life on the internet. But there are a lot more people on this forum that think you're a fraud .. live with that! - jd250
There are certainly people who don't like me and I ruffle feathers. I accept that and in a lot of cases accept responsibility for. However, what can't be denied is the knowledge of the sport that I have and demonstrate on a daily basis. You will never have that because you have a complete inability to learn. Live with that.

I'm with you with Deslauriers, but Hathaway is a good player and I would love him in my bottom 6 any time. - jd250
His cap hit is too high for a rebuilding team to have on the 4th line. He is also too old.

This is what people on this forum that have never been on a real hockey team and played the game don't understand. Not everyone on a team can be Connor McDavid. You need role players that do some heavy lifting and difficult jobs. Now I think Deslauriers is a liability at this point on the ice, but anyone watching can see the value Seeler and Hathaway provide each and every game. And I will say it again, Torts is by far doing the best coaching job in the league this year. - jd250
You have no standing or credibility to tell anyone what they don't understand. The public record shows that the volume of what you don't understand, is immense. That is proven every single day. Tortorella isn't close to doing the best coaching job in the NHL.

I wonder if Torts keeps going 11/7 with Staal in the lineup. Maybe get some minutes for him to up his trade value from a 7th to a 6th.

Absolutely Hathaway helps win games for this team. Not all value shows up in points or in naturalstattrick. - jd250
Where does the value show up? How can you prove the value? What can you provide that shows that anything Hathaway does offsets that when he is on the ice. The other team scores 72.41% of the goals?

If the Flyers trade walker at the TDL, do you think that effects the team negatively heading into the playoffs?
He's arguably been our most effective and moat steady defenseman this season....
Also, top 4, rock solid Dmen don't grow on tres... he's got to be worth a first to consider moving him, especially in a weak draft.

You're completely wrong. When given the opportunity and ice time, Frost has produced. He has done nothing but steadily improve. Tortorella tried to bury Frost and get rid of him. Frost persevered through that ridiculously bad coaching. The only thing that has stopped this kid is bad coaching.
The first slump he has offensively, you'll be right back to criticizing him.

Will be interesting to see if DB moves Walker with Risto being out for a bit.
