Losing = high draft position = good players....this is not hard to figure out and doesn't mean you're good at your job, unless you're actually trying to fail. Which he wasn't. He was tragic!! He managed to screw up two great draft positions too....

Some long-standing franchises just can never get it right, like Columbus, Vancouver, Buffalo, SJ....it's sad, really.

Apparently it was more of a fit issue than his coaching. Team was a bit up and down throughout the year on D... not like he wasn't coaching an already fantastic unit either.

The fact that Abby is struggling makes me wonder if mgmt has soured on some of their prospects playing down there…and could use them as trade chips to upgrade the big club.

They couldn't even sell out their extremely rare playoff games but ya, if you give out free tickets, free parking and complimentary food & drink vouchers it might be near capacity on some nights.

@ Lefty here is an article about the land they are hoping to purchase, doesn't sound like it would be used for its I tended use, plus it will take at least 12 months, if they do sell the land.
Add In at least 4 years to build, plus any other legislation, my 2036 guess, isn't that far off.

It's just raw land and there's an auction, they may not even get the land if they aren't the highest bidder. If they do, there's a lot of underground work that needs to be done, which would take years, I'm guessing.

They should move them to Houston, nice arena there and we are thinking of moving there.
