Joshua out for tonight? Hope his hand injury isn't serious. Talk about having a career year. |

I'm still going through the EF comments in the search results on the Canucks and Risto. Even in his 32 thoughts he hasnt said there was definitely talks. Some of the headlines are saying he poured cold water on it. People are asking him what he thinks based on their speculation is whats happening. He thinks they are not eager to move him unless there is a 1st rounder going their way. No thanks.

I would do Mik and a second for Risto. As I pointed out the difference is 400K . That gives you a locked down RHD for an addition bit of money for three years. It also frees up Myers six mil to re-sign some of your players.
Philly was looking for a first if they withheld cap. |

Myth. Coaches don't put players who can't defend on the PK. They also don't get much ice time in the dying minutes of games. - Load Management
20 minutes a night means it is reality, not myth. He’s ok in the 4/5 spot he is in, Tocchet is deploying him properly. |

I was down for Risto as a project 3/4 years ago, that window has passed and he has regressed majorly. |

EF in his 32 thoughts says he believes the Leafs have taken a look at Risto. Don't see him saying there were talks between the Canucks and Philly. He has commented on speculation others have made but not in this...
https://www.sportsnet.ca/...o-trade-but-at-what-cost/
Honestly, I don't see the need to trade away assets for Risto. They have other options. I think they can get a team friendly deal for Myers for that style of RD and they could take a shot at UFA Tanev maybe and use those assets more wisely. As far as adding for the playoffs, they could just aim for a stay at home D. They said they were happy with this D... I don't see assets going out for anything more than a depth D for a 7/8 upgrade. |

Tanev will cost a first most likely and again if you re-sign him or any UFA you still have to use extra salary on top of keeping Mikheyev.
The next three years you need to play Cap Twister. Taking Mik off the books and throwing in a Myers like player for 400 K seems logical.
Pesce Tanev Myers or anyone else is going to cost money in the offseason and you will still need to get rid of Mikheyevs salary.

Tanev or Myers would cost no assets if you wait to summer and Risto is not an upgrade on them. Use Miky in a different trade. I don't understand the concept that we are stuck with Miky unless he's traded for Risto. |

Here's reality. A lot of people, yourself included, said he would never be a top 4 Dman on a decent team. Here we are heading into the home stretch of the season and he's a top 4 Dman on a first place team.
Read this closely as I can't emphasize this enough. You were wrong, are wrong and suck it. |

During the summer no at TDL Tanev will cost.
(I am guessing Dakota and Bluegers next salary)
Your solution : Myers /Tanev 4 mil Mik 4.7 Dakota 2.5 mil Blueger 2 mil Bains 800 K. Total 14 mil
My solution: Risto 5.1 Dakota 2.5 mil Blueger 2 mil Bains 800 K. Total 10.5
Enough of a savings to re-sign Zadorov.

Why is Miky's salary in my solution? My solution has him gone by TDL. Is there any quotes you havent changed today?

Hopefully if Miky is on that line for a few, his trade value gets a bump. |

For how many years a 6m 3rd pairing D was the worst contract ever but a 5m 3rd pair D is now needed. |

Dallas up 3-0 on Nashville, no one really talks about how good Dallas has been this year. Nine guys with 10 or more goals, a lot of good two-way players. |

Quite the mixed bag. Good bad and fair deals. Myers at 2x2.6 is a great deal I think. Petey at 7x 10.8 is fair. Lindholm at 7x8 is scary. Z at 4x5.1 is ridiculous.
Hronek is a tough call at that estimate. You love having that top pair... but wow... |

This is where clueless people chime in and sound like asses.
It was a five mil Dman if a 4.7 mil fourth liner going the other way added to the trade.
You seem to have missed a very important part of the offer. Actually you just ignored that part to fit your narrative.

I don't know. Why is that an issue for any trade but the Risto one? You have a 2nd thrown in and only Philly is willing to make a move for Miky and a 2nd?
Friedman says they are not going to let him go on the cheap. You think Miky has no value but they are going to take on that salary, let go of a asset they think they can get a 1st rounder if they retain and only for the return of a 2nd round pick???
OK. |

Why would Myers sign at 2.2 x 2. He will get 4 mil for 3 or 4 years. Probably even the Flames.

No team is offering Mik for an cheaper less term contract unless there is something added by Canucks. No one.
There either has to be a equally unpopular contract coming back or assets added.
So until you give me a trade offer with names he stays on your salary cap.

Yes. That's why I have it at a great bargain. Because it's under value. It hasn't been stated these players are signing these deals. I think it's unlikely he signs for that and you know this because I talked about Myers for 4m per just a few posts ago.
You are struggling today.

Do I next go from struggling again today to being a liar in my next post?
I had seen you said it was a bargain and I said yeah why would he?
