I just saw Z tried to do the gritty when he scored. - boonerbuck
I think it was after Walman was complaining about some stick work.
But it was great.

This is where having staff doing their analytics pays off. They did their homework and decided to go after those stealthy quality players they could sign on the cheap. Blue and Suter are good examples. Not sure teams were lining up for them... nice finds. - boonerbuck
100%.
Do I dare say this team reminds me of the 2010/11 team's line depth and ability to contribute. Guys like Torres, Malhotra, Hansen, and then later Higgins and Lapierre to a certain extent. Not game changers, but important. I'm seeing the same thing this go around. Hopefully they have similar success in the playoffs.
Speaking of playoffs, not to sound like a complainer, but I do wish this team had a guy more like Lapierre in attitude and ability to infuriate. I like those guys in big games. They can play a big role in emotional situations.

Florida looks like the team to beat in the East, might even catch us for the Regular Season Championship (i.e. The President's Cup) |

Canucks have guys like Joshua Hoglander and even Garland who get under the skin of other teams.
As far as the Canucks and the cap next year the group will need to be creative. As it was pointed out on the guesstimated cap hits for next year they would fall short.
I didn't even include Cole and came up with the same result that they will need to switch a few players.
Zadorov and Joshua are two of my favorite style this year and I think they are going to sign Lindholm so they need to do some magic with the salaries.

Resign Lindholm for similar to JT , trade EP for a haul and go from there |

Woo coming out party this year. McWard getting quite a bit of praise from people that watch Abbotsford. Juulsen coming in cheap. - manvanfan
Is that the same McWard that is playing 3rd pairing minutes, only because of injuries, who is also being criticized by many of the people that watch Abbotsford? |

Hog I can see getting there, but Garland nah. Too small. Lapierre had some size to back his nonsense.
Regarding the cap, probably why management sees this season as a window. Because it is. But if a few players from the farm can come in and contribute, maybe a savvy signing or two, this team could easily be competitive next season. Just look a bit different.
You know more than most on here, who's got it if there's two or possibly three spots to fill if needed?

I won't get into this much tonight seeing it is late but some of the comments about Canucks missed the chance to sell high on Kuzmenko. The same situation is going to happen again next year with Boeser. He is now a 30 goal scorer and going to want higher salary.
This is where you might look at a trade to Minny for Marco Rossi and a first for BB??
Just spit balling. Keep in mind I think they will look at that very hard this year with Likker in Canada. |

You might need a optical exam if you can’t see how Garland drives the play |

Makes me sick how easy the Red Wings are going down... it's like I'm watching a World Cup game where just a touch will make someone fall down like they just broke their leg only to get up like nothing happened after the free kick's given. - DariusKnight
Miller telling Larkin, “your a strong skater why are you falling down so easy” 😆 |
