I dont know how a GM doesn't axe the whole coaching staff at this point. The season is still salvageable (mathematically), the coaching staff isn't the GM's (he never hired them) and its much easier to try this than move players with NMC's around a league that there's next to no salary cap space in. |

That is crazy.
With regards to last night their PP wasn't even a +1 haha even though they scored one on it... they also let one in. Failed to convert on the other 4 PP's.
I can think of at least a dozen games that the Pens scored a few even strength goals, or more, but didn't convert at all on any of the PPs in the game, sometimes being scored on while on the PP, and lost the game by 1 goal. At least a dozen games. Thats anywhere from 12 to 24 standings points. Insanity. - MattStrat
Oh yeah not saying the PP hasn't cost them games or ignoring the SHG. Just that there are problems well beyond that. Imagine even 15 more goals from average depth scoring. |

For sure there are other issues but that PP, or should I say lack there of, is the big elephant in the room. The bottom 6, while not scoring as much, have been a lot better at preventing goals against. |

The idea behind that though was the first and second line would win the games. And the second line hasn't been up to the job. |

At 5v5, Lines without Sid and Geno are 30 for and 30 against. Breaking even.

Pretty surprised nothing has happened today.
To lose a game line that on jags night is pretty bad. |

At practice, SILKY has a jockey lined up on Malkin's RW. |

Dubas speaking to media at 2 Wednesday. Supposedly pre-deadline stuff. Also the first time he's spoken to the media in 2-3 months. |

The Wings and Flyers keep finding ways to get points and the Pens find ways to lose. The Flyers have been dying to sell off but the Pens refuse to close the gap.
Sully is dead man walking. Maybe FSG is just cheap and doesn't want to bring someone in for half of a lost season. |

Rossi talked to Sid today, I always take Rossi with a massive grain of salt, but it's mostly direct quotes from Sid.
-Sid said he wouldnt get involved with Jake unless Dubas specifically asks him
-Sid says he only wants to play for Pittsburgh, but isnt focused on an extension right now (cant sign until 7/1/24)
Rossi said Dubas's asking price for Jake before his injury was a 1st, top prospect, and young NHL player. |

Yeah but that’s actually typical of Geno’s line at 5v5. Usually where he makes his biggest difference is in the PP. |

If Jake's injury is just a broken finger as has been reported (but not confirmed), I don't think the price should really change. |

That’s actually a solid return.
Jake is 29. He’s peaked. Still will be a good player but you’re paying a premium for past results. |

Past results and tbh if we were in the position of a lot of playoff teams who never won a cup. Would you not pay a premium if you believed Jake could get you to the cup and potentially allow you to win it? |

Except the big 3. Everyone making over 5 million needs to go. Need some honest players in the top of the lineup. |

I agree with this! I think we needed a shake up for a bit of time. I just wish we sold high on Rakell last year. |

I’d do whatever you have to to get the building blocks. If someone would give a first or top prospect for Malkin do it.
I liked Zuckers game last year a lot. Of the 30+ yr old Fs they have he had what the pens needed but he was always broken. Nobody thought rak would fall off a cliff. |
