My kind of tread. I tried a lot of beer, from around the country and the province (Qc). So here is my choice and my for you guys who plan a visit to Montreal this summer, beer to try and beer place to visit.

Best Tasting Beer: I’m a Stout guy, so Guinness hands down. Although I realy enjoy a “Boreal Noir” or a St-Ambroise, easy to find in any grocery or “Depanneur” in Montreal. La Barberie and Dominus Vobiscum Double and Triple, more hard to find.

Best “Getting drunk” beer: Molson Ex or Labbat 50 for commercial beer. Coup de Grisou, from brasseur RJ is also one of my favorite.

Worst Tasting: Molson Dry, Black Label, Labatt Blue (any), Coors (any), Budweiser, Stella Artoi, Heineiken.

If you go to a LCBO, I suggest: Innis and Gunn oak aged beer, Original Schlenkeria Smokebeer, Mill St. Coffee Porter, Ontario Microbrewed beer are very suprising.

If you go to Quebec : Don't stop to SAAQ to buy your beer, they only have La Chouffe that I recomend. Try a Depanneur. Brasseur RJ (www.brasseursrj.com), Unibroue (www.unibroue.com), McAuslen (www.mcauslan.com/).
Place to go and drink good beer in Montreal: Dieu du Ciel (www.dieuduciel.com), L'Amère a boire (www.amereaboire.com), Cheval Blanc (www.lechevalblanc.ca). All excellent.

This is one of my favourites although I have to disagree with you on Coors both Coors Light and Coors Light Lime are some of the most vile things I have put in my mouth but regular Coors I found to be decent.

i don't know any of the fancy words you guys use but i am enjoying this chocolate beer and will have another.

enjoyed 4 beers tonight from the Peak Organic Brewing Variety 12 Pack.

Pale Ale, IPA, Nut Brown Ale and Summer Session Ale (Brewer's Choice).

pretty good stuff. Summer Session Ale might be my favorite out of the 4. easy drinking, low IBU, alot of citrus, very crisp. sort of reminds me of Magic Hat Circus Boy Hefeweizen - minus the unfiltered look.

My Best Tasting Beers: Southern Tier Unearthly, Southern Tier Pumking, Southern Tier Back Burner, Stone Arrogant Bastard, Middle Ages Druid Fluid, Guinness, Wolaver's Oatmeal Stout, Dogfish Head Pangaea, Sierra Nevada Northern Hemisphere Harvest Wet Hop Ale.

My Best Getting Drunk Beers: Coors Light, Michelob Light, Molson Canadian Light, Labatt Blue Light. I pick these because they're light, cheap and if I'm trying to get sloshed, I'm not buying pricier craft brews. These may be mass produced, but they really don't taste all that bad to me.

My Worst Tasting Beers: Corona, Dos Equis, Heineken, Newcastle. Basically anything in clear or green bottles.
