ya i was dead set on trying some trappist stuff or some ESB (pretty sure london pride isnt an ESB but its from Fullers so i thought it'd be in the ballpark)

Most English Ales do ok over time. Some of them even improve over a few years.

I've never been a huge fan of those malty english beers. Although I never been to England so I'm guessing the beers they serve in the pubs over there are way better then anything you can get in a bottle.

i do prefer drinking those sorts of british ales as drafts and not bottled.

Lol, i've got a few of those as well.
I had a bottle that I cracked open after years of sitting in my basement. It didn't age well. It had a sherry like taste to it. Much better when its fresh.

Brilliantly clear copper color, with about a half inch of bubbly head that hangs on for a minute or two. The nose has a doughy malt character with touches of fruit and a light grassy hoppiness. It's clean yet complex at the same time. Not too intense, but quite lovely nonetheless.

The malt has a butter cookie-like sweetness that melds well with the bittering hops lingering through the finish. Clean, with a light body, it seems slightly watery but workable for an ale of it's strength. The carbonation feels light, yet wienerly on the tongue.

A very solid English Pale. It is balanced and easy to drink, but if I'm having a Fuller's I think I'll stick with the ESB most of the time.

Drank it all day catching up with my dad in a pub in Rockridge. Creamy and very drinkable, I loved it.
