Ending up with a stout (uncharaciteristically)

Very toasty with a nice blend of caramel and bitterness on the finish. A nice dry stout offering.

I get licorice on this, and find it surprisingly drinkable.

Damn this stuff goes fast! Got the last case they had on the shelf after stops at 2 different local distributors looking for this today . Look forward to it every year. This years offering seems a slight bit less hoppy then I remember, but still an excellent brew.

I'm not a fan of Samuel Adams but I love Weihenstaphaner's beers. At least the ones I've had.

i used to love Sam Adams' brews, then i got sick of paying craft brewery prices for what is/has been turning into a low-level (quantity, not quality) macrobrewery.

color says so much doesn't it?

i believe hops are added at three points throughout the brewing process.

edit: color can say so much, that is. particularly for me with ales. too light or too dark is no good. pls balance pls.
