I totally saw that post and would of gladly made some positive comments, however some of the frequent posters of this thread seem to feel that "hoppy beers" have no place among the ranks of their particular style of choice.

- Hop Head

don't be silly you can still discuss them here. we'll just avert our eyes.

I'm really disturbed no one picked up on my Pliny The Elder post the other day
- nfph

The lack of pictures made me miss it. I don't think I've ever had pliny the elder. I'd like to try it though.

Which one is that? I got a few packs of their beers when they had the gift pack in the fall. One had a lumberjack on it, one had a castle on it, and the other had two bucks locking antlers on it. The deer one (I think a doppelbock) was especially delicious but all three were good. I wonder if one the ones I had was the holzer, I don't remember.

Just bought the Hoss Doppelbock along with some more Schneider Hopfen Weisse's. Also picked up a couple Thornbridge Kipling's and a can of something called Hops and Robbers. My expectations are very low for that Hops and Robbers beer but I have to get new things when I see them.. I can't help myself.

Fair enough, pretty non-decrypt bottle:

It is, however, the greatest IPA I've ever had.

I wouldn't be surprised if some pub in Toronto carried it. I'll try it if I find it.

Probably the best double IPA I've had is the Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA. I'm not going to lie, I do find most high quality double IPA's to be very similar but this sucker has an almost oily/creamy texture which I love. Lol weird reason to prefer it over the others I've tried but what can you do.

big citrusy/grapefruity hop blast. 8.5% and has a nice malt character.

yeah. went to the dealership (Subaru/Kia) and tried to get another Impreza, but they are so backed up on getting them in that i'd be waiting well into at least August before i got one. plus there were better deals on Kias and you just can't go wrong with how the Optima looks inside and out. it's a good ride as well.

I've had that. Very tasty. I remember it being nearly the same as Fullers London Porter which is what I always stock my fridge with when I want a porter.

I am a fan of the 90-minute, but this is another league, IMO. The balance of the malt is just... incredible. Grapefruit on the palate and in the nose, the malt gives it a soft yet crisp quality, ridiculously drinkable for a double.

Ah, Pyramid is one of my favorite dinner spots here. Their Heffeweisen is really excellent. They actually brew some of Magic Hat's stock.

their hefe is indeed excellent. had several at Burger Bar in Mandalay Bay in LV, NV.

i had no idea they brewed stuff for Magic Hat. i'm kicking around trying Elder Betty. some say it's amazing, some say it's average.
