I love Scotch but I'm not big on blends usually. They often lack character. I'd rather a decent single malt. There are some good blends out there but I'm just speaking generally.

I don't think we can get that here. Sour smoked wheat ale.. sign me up. If it ever shows up here I'll grab a bunch.

Either this is really overrated or it did not have a nice trip to Toronto. Seems like an average IPA.

grant's is a pretty good blend.


I've got the highlander 15 year single, that's pretty damned good.

And the Glenfiddich 14 year rich oak... pretty sweet, hella smooth.

Its a classic example of a West Coast IPA. I've had this one several times over and its a great beer. I'm betting you have some way past its prime and the hops have oxidized. With IPA"s you always have to check for the bottling date and stay away from anything longer than 2 months old.

I'm guessing maybe in the 1600's during long sea voyages before the invention of the fridge hoppy beers held up longer beings that its a natural preservative, but i highly doubt when finally consumed that it tasted as good as it did when first brewed.

It was three months old. Not way past its prime but not fresh. I wasn't expecting miracles but it was still disappointing. If they order more once this batch is gone it'll probably be a few weeks old at the most and I may try it again.

i went with the fuller's and it was pretty darn good but had a weird fizzy aftertaste. i also drank the joe coffee porter, which was like drinking a soda. not terrible, but nothing super special.

London Porter and St Ambroise Oatmeal Stout are my go-to beers when I want a stout or porter. Both have a nice balance of chocolate and coffee. London Porter seems to lean more towards a coffee finish with a bit of earthy hops and the Oatmeal Stout leans more towards a bittersweet chocolate finish imo.

Have you had this beer yet? Tastes a bit like hickory sticks. Really good though. I almost didn't try it because of a very negative review from a friend but the smokiness is actually pretty subtle.

I haven't had a Young's from a can yet but it's definitely possible. Is it a nitro can? If so for sure there'd be a difference just from that. You'd get a creamy beer at the cost of aroma.
